The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Booster Set 13 VS Royal Knights. This time it's Yggdrasil_7D6.

Yggdrasil_7D6 gets some very nice anime plus (plus) art (which we got an early preview of in V-Jump) of them floating there, looking like something that the villain would reveal a few episodes from the end of a mech series, which makes sense since Kira Yamato ends up battling it with Agumon.

It's always bothered me Yggdrasill 7DX is classified as a Ultimate/Level VI on the reference book, so seeing it without a level in the card game makes me happy. I just wish they would change it's level to Unknown finally.

<Breeding> effects can only be used when the card is in the Breeding Area

<Breeding> [Your Turn] Your Digimon cannot digivolve.
<Breeding> [Your Turn] (Once Per Turn) When you would play a Digimon card with [Royal Knights] in its traits, you may reduce the play cost by 4. For each card in this Digimon's digivolution sources, reduce the play cost by an additional 1.
<Breeding> [Start of your Main Phase] Reveal the top card from your Digi-Egg deck. Place that card and all of your Digimon with [Royal Knights] in their traits at the bottom of this Digimon's digivolution cards.
-
Inherited Effect: <Breeding> [Your Turn] (Once Per Turn) When you place an option card with [Royal Knights] in its traits in your battle area, gain +1 memory.

So they finally created a card that can break the breeding area "effects dont activate" rule. So basically theres no way for your opponent to get rid of it, but it wipes your field of royal knights every turn and prevents you from digivolving (unless the "start of your main phase effect is optional"). He does have the upside of letting you play Royal Knights once per turn for a reduced play cost a la mother d-reaper, but unlike the agents they dont stick around, so unless they introduce an option card that can give them rush(which they probably will since his inheritable hints that more royal knights options will be introduced)

Hopefully we get more cards from Yggdrasil's other forms.

Wait, how the hell are you meant to get it into the Egg Area? You have to use other cards to force it there, right?

it's a Digi-Egg card so you simply flip it from the Digi-Egg deck during the Breeding phase.
Yeah, a Mega in the baby area, lol

Mother D-Reaper doesn't have a level, but comparisons could be made to it as a prior Digitama card.

Oh, so you can just have four of these things accessible there from turn 1 in Royal Knight decks? That seems slightly ridiculous.

no but kinda? Since it has no level it has no way to live outside the Breeding area that we've seen yet and the Breeding area only has 1 slot. However, its ability makes it put other cards in your Digi-Egg deck underneath it as a digivolution source so you can have a stack of four 7D6s with the main one doing its thing and three attached 7D6s giving it inheritables.

Unless that's not what you mean and you're just saying you can have it out turn 1

Yeah. It's guaranteed as a starter for your deck because you can just... only have 7D6 there, and then each turn you stack more of them, so by Turn 4 you can have a Royal Knight for an effective 10 less cost and then generate more for 3 less.

If this is good it's going to be miserable to play against. No interaction, extremely consistent. Is it cool? Yes, I like that they're mixing it up with the kind of stuff eggs can be and do. But holy hell, this plays on a totally different axis than other decks and that usually means it's either gimmicky trash or obnoxiously good.
