As announced last week, the Xros Wars reference book update has been finished.

All of the Digimon previously listed on the reference book under Xros Wars are still listed under that section, but have had new data added for level and attributes, bringing them into line with data for other Digimon in the franchise.

The Xros Wars page on the reference book.

We'll let everyone dig through everything, since there is plenty of new information there.

Some interesting choices all around, and hopefully this leads to Xros Wars Digimon showing up in more things in an ongoing basis.

I'm happiest with:

Shoutmon (Rookie) > Shoutmon King (Champion)

Starmon 2010 (Rookie).

Hopefully that means the video games will use Shoutmon King as an in between since Shoutmon > OmniShoutmon in HM was quite the pain in the ass as they had it going Rookie > Mega (speaking of, I guess they either keep OmniShoutmon as a Mega in the next Story game or nerf him down to Ultimate).

Meanwhile Starmon 2010 can now work really well as a Rookie for the Starmons (and like Soul Chaser did I really like Starmon 2010 > Starmon > SuperStarmon > Gankoomon).

They kept what the Vpet did with Damemon > Tuwarmon being the same level (Champion), which is as annoying as the new Eyesmon being Champion as well.

Shoutmon being... Data attribute even Xros fused forms of his. I thought Free attribute is perfect for those Xros. But look like it's really good to have two Levels. Xros Level should remain forever. Ever.

I guess the huge surprise is only this Shoutmon's attribute.

A lot of these are as I expected. Understandable that they had to group together Shoutmon's numerous tiers of Xroses.

A lot of the Xroses that only really just add a weapon or something superficial don't change their levels (e.g. SkullKnightmon: Deadly Axe Mode or MetalGreymon + Cyber Launcher) while more comprehensive Xroses do increase in level (e.g. DarkKnightmon).

Honestly, the biggest surprise for me is that Chikurimon is a Rookie. I always saw it as the counterpart to Pickmon or Bombmon.

I'm annoyed some of the Death Star Generals are Mega/Ultimate while others are Ultimate/Perfect.

And the inconsistency with the Super Evolutions. OmegaShoutmon is Perfect, ZekeGreymon is Ultimate, JagerDorulu and AtlurBallista are also Perfect, but then JetSparrowmon is Champion. Making it just a one step evolution makes sense(Adult>Perfect, Perfect>Ultimate), but it's inconsistent because both Shoutmon and Sparrowmon are Child but Shoumon's Super Evolution is Perfect while Sparrow's is Adult.

I didn't even realise that lmao, since I just assumed theyd all be megas I didn't look at them.

Zameilmon and Splashmon are a level lower than the rest. They should've at least had Splashmon's "darkness mode" as a Mega, since that was a more powerful form (the water tiger thing), but they share a profile as one species. oh well. Having some of the generals being a lower level would make their dynamics a lot more interesting. splashmon and zamielmon did prefer to be in the background sorta thing. zamielmon sucked up honey to become more powerful, I guess to make up for the fact hes only ultimate level and not mega.

Gravimon is a Perfect too. That's half of the six Big Death-Stars.

Wow really. How unusual. Usually all special groups share the common things. But it's plus for me because now it's unbalanced group so they will be crushed from other groups easily!

It bothered me about Sparrowmon's level. It seemed to be Perfect level to me since... She beat higher level ones also joined Shoutmon's Xros Fusion at very late to match that X series of his forms' level...

I guess that's fine. And that's good thing. It actually doesn't borrow Ultimate or Perfect level's power but just... Equip to increase in power.

Eh Pickmon? One of them didn't match to other versions in level? Eh

Olegmon being a different level than Gravimon, Splashmon, and Zamielmon kinda crushes my head-canon-theory that those four were the Hybrid-A forms for the missing four Elements.

Not that they look ANYTHING like their counterparts. But. Neither does DaiPenmon. Sooooooo...

Baalmon seems to be the only Free-attribute, which would possibly make it the only Free-attribute in the DRB that's not directly related to an 02 Digimon.

Yeah not too surprised by any of these apart from the Death Stars.

Regarding the Partners: It's worth noting that OmegaShoutmon is likely Digivolving from the Adult Level Shoutmon King rather than the Child Level default Shoutmon, ZekeGreymon Digivolves from the Perfect Level MetalGreymon, YaegerDorulumon and AtlurBallistamon Digivolve from the Adult Level Dorulumon and Ballistamon respectively and finally RaptorSparrowmon Digivolves from the Child Level Sparrowmon.

I'm also pretty confused over the Big Death Star split as well since it's really odd for half of them to be Ultimate while the other half is Mega. The only thing I can think of is that Muur's theory is correct and it came down to the lower three being more tactical then their Mega counterparts, but even then that's kind of a weird way to make the distinction.

Outside of that, I'm kind of surprised Arresterdramon SM wasn't Mega. It makes sense after what Chimera-gui pointed out, but I thought that the Brave Snatcher being integrated into the evolution would push it up.

Glad to see the manga 'mons weren't excluded, though I was confused as to why EX6 was missing. As it turns out, it was never on here to begin with despite being mentioned in Shooting Starmon's profile. Hopefully that gets rectified one day.

Maybe they determined that one of them in particular had to be Perfect, and then lowered 2 others accordingly just to keep some semblance of order(half Ultimate, half Perfect).

Hey wait a min. Tactimon's level is Ultimate. I really was under impression of how he was so extremely salty about the evolution which he witnessed Shoutmon evolving to OmegaShoutmon and said something about how evolving takes hardest time or something like that so it felt like he is Perfect level.

Meh, I always headcanoned that he was Mega/Ultimate, so I'm pretty satisfied at least. Plus he makes for a great bridge between Butenmon and Chronomon IMO.

I think it’s more likely that they’re going to be folded into existing lines/each other.
My sister noted that Zamielmon has the same attribute as Tactimon and both have a focus on tactics and schemes, meanwhile Gravimon shares an attribute with and bears a resemblance to, Bagramon.
Splashmon Darkness Mode going to Leviamon also makes sense.
