I really liked the 3D for the movie. I think they should stay away from making them look to uber realistic though. I like the animeish 3d of this opposed to Final Fantasy: TSW's very realisticness. I guess my answer would be mabey, if they stay away from too realistic.
I think a cel-shaded 3D Savers movie could work well. The mix of cel-shaded 3D and regular animation works well in the Savers evolution sequences, and the PS2 game seems to be using cel-shaded graphics, too.
If you ask me, a lot of elements in X-Evolution would have looked better in the plain old 2D Digimon animation style, but the 3D was especially cool in creatures like MetalGarurumon X and Dorumon. The gold color of Magnamon's armor looked great in that kind of animation, too.
It may have just been my monitor, but sometimes it was hard for me to tell just what was where since the front animation blended in a bit too well with the background. Overall, though, another movie in X-Evolution's style would be a welcome addition, granted the story's good and all that.
i loved digimon x, it was my fav digimon movie so far. however, no, i don't want another cgi animated movie, i prefere the regular stuff. reason: the characters loose so much personality & expression that way. (this doesn't only apply to digimon, i don't like cgi animation at all. the only one that i do like is pixar's computer animation, but that's only because they know how to give perfect expressions to their characters)
though i gotta admit, metalgarurumon, wargeymon, & mainly Dukemon looked awsome.
