There is a Coredramon Red which eventually evolves into Dorbickmon
less of a Headcanon of mone and more something I wish to see because I would find it cool: Red Coredramons do exist but can only exist when an Examon de-digivolves and can't be found through other means. This is because Examon has too much of an individual identity beyond its two components so stays as one identity as it loses its mega form.
We've seen the Jupitermon from the Olympos XII forced by Homeros to de-digivolve to Aegiomon in Crusader and Omnimon forced to de-digivolve to Agumon and Gabumon in Cyber Sleuth so we know this can happen to any member of the Royal Knights, it's just interesting to think what lower forms they may take and if these are the same forms they came from or entirely new ones

If the Dark Master Mugendramon has a personality, it’s because he is a Digimon who evolved naturally.
The Mugendramon of Adventure 2020, on the other hand, was created in a purely synthetic way and therefore has no ego.
I really like this take, it explains a lot

- Menoa created Diaboromon by trying to resurrect Morphomon.
Not a bad one but sadly the timeline doesn't work out to allow for it.
Too bad.
And if we assume that Menoa only resurrected him for the events of "Diaboromon Strike Back", does it stick in the Timeline ?

Morphomon died in 2002, whilst Revenge of Diaboromon is in 2003 - so I guess it could fit. dunno if she was as far into her research at that point for something like that though. She would be 15 when those events took place but like, she would be 1 year into her university course (since she got into Uni at the age of 14) she might've been a little too focused on Uni at that point. She would be grieving over Morphomon sure, but she prob didn't *actually* fully focus on trying to revive Morphomon till she was done with uni. (which, if she was there for three years, would be 2005 - the same year as Tri. weird how the reboot didn't bring Morphomon back)

Morphomon didn't die, she's just trapped in the Digital World - unless Gennai was REALLY lying to the kids again. Her getting rebooted wouldn't change that.

(The film treating it with the gravitas of death is silly, since we've seen Digimon contact humans even when the Digital Gates were all closed - chalk it up to more Kizuna "canon what is dat?" stupidity)

She disintegrated and ceased to exist in Menoa's arms. Menoa somehow found the data and it was on her PC and randomly reformed as a digi-egg in 2010.

She didn't find the data, because it's in the other world. She just artificially created a machine Digimon that resembled Morphomon.

I mean, you can interpret it how you wish, but that's the opposite of what the movie actually says.

If she died than the main characters would be inhuman monsters and Menoa would be absolutely justified in what she did - the protagonists would basically be championing genocide as a means of "moving forward".

Here is a quote from the movie, I will bold the most relevant part.

tai: "when you were a kid you had a real digimon". menoa: "thats right, and she was the best friend I ever had. ive been trying to get her back ever since she vanished. for years and years ive been very patient, but no matter what I did I couldn't spark life back into her digital data. then one day, the day that the aurora appeared, life sparked into that lifeless digital data, and the eosmon that appeared had a special ability"

morphomon was dead and menoa had her data on her computer (somehow), and then the aurora sparked life into the data and somehow turned said data (morphomon) into eosmon.

that also means agumon and the others are dead too.

I interpet that as "her" being Eosmon since Menoa mistakenly wants to believe that they were the same.

That's the only way the Chosen Children and the Digital World don't deserve . . . I mean quite frankly, death themselves.

That doesn't really make sense. Tai said Menoa had a Digimon as a kid, and she said "yes I did. and she's dead. I found her data but couldn't put life back into it, then suddenly it came back to life".

and if Morphomon was just chilling in the Digital World why would Menoa not go live with her? visit every day and so forth?

Pretty much the entire basis of the movie was "your digimon is a sign youre still a kid. you should move on and be an adult without digimon"

and then they announced a reboot right afterwards. seemed to me they were trying to send a message to the fanbase itself there.

also in regards to the whole "menoa was justified thing", the producers themselves said she was written that way, that you'd understand why she did what she did, but in the end what she did was wrong. (kidnapping millions then forcing them to live as 10 year olds forever, yeah you could say she had "good intentions", but she didn't even give people a choice)

It was to prevent the death of over 30,000 sentient lifeforms. Of course drastic measures would have to be taken to prevent a - I'll say it again - genocide of that scale.

This makes Taichi and the others basically Thanos, lol. It's either a plot hole or they're complicit in genocide. I choose to believe it's a plot hole, especially since the writing is vague.

I mean, your version is a plot hole anyway since the Holy Beasts and Pipimon were shown alive in the Digital World looong after their partners grew up, but whatever: they really should've done this movie with original characters.

pipimon never became oikawa's partner until he was in his 50s. technically a loop hole. kakudo said pipimon died when oikawa died anyway, as according to him "a human dying means their digimon dies too". take that as you want I guess since its from an interview rather than on screen for that one particular thing.

as for the holy beasts, sure has been a long time since we saw them. I dont think we saw them after 02. perhaps they vanished forever in-between 2002 and 2005.

and I guess you're not wrong that means Tai and friends are going with the choice that would kill off millions of Digimon, but Menoa's plan was to just chill on an island forever with brainwashed de-aged ten year olds. not exactly the best plan really. the true bad guy homeostatis for basically making this a thing when she made partners for kids. she even did this knowing that 15 years later theyd lose their partners. means nothing to her though, the world will never run out of kids for her to give partners to. its why the term is "chosen child" I suppose. not "chosen adult". being a tamer is better, as it turns out.

At first "Tri" and "Kizuna" were both like "these work if you ignore the 02 epilogue".

But if you dive deeper into them it's more like "these work ONLY if you consider ALL of 02 to be non-canon and think of Daisuke, Miyako, Iori, and Ken as minor irrelevant characters that have no real origin".

For "Tri" to work you must ignore 02.

For "Kizuna" to work you have to ignore both 02 AND Tri.

Tri doesn't ignore anything from 02 and pretend it's not canon at all

It doesn't "violate" the canon so much as try to sweep it under the rug, I suppose. It is . . . weird when it comes to aspects about 02, though. Like how nobody, not even Hikari and Takeru seems to care about the 4 missing friends. Yeah, it's addressed but in a way that makes it clear that the writers would like to forget about it. There are explanations given offhandedly to explain why it feels like an Adventure sequel instead of a logical progression from 02, but they feel like afterthoughts instead of world-building or good characterization.

"Our friends are missing and one of them seems to have returned to evil and we just killed two our friend's partner Digimon. Oh well, let's all go to an onsen!"

Well, TK and Kari visited Ken's house and he wasn't home. Then they sent Matt to ask Maki where the 02 kids are and Maki said they were in hiding for their own protection. not much else they could do really

That was after the reboot though, and that the reboot could bring back Digimon that were killed "permanently" was what made it such a crucial part of Maki's plan. We also don't know if him or the holy beast still properly count as partner Digimon after being forcefully evolved without human involvement.

That doesn't really make sense. Tai said Menoa had a Digimon as a kid, and she said "yes I did. and she's dead. I found her data but couldn't put life back into it, then suddenly it came back to life".
I don't know where that quote comes from but it seems pretty much mistranslated.
In Onkei's translation for both the movie and the novel Menoa's exposition goes:"For years and years, I spent all of my time on it. But there was simply no way to kindle digital data with the light of life."
There is no word about "finding" anything the data originating from some backup of Morphmon or any preexisting source in general and that wouldn't have made sense for the story either.
The whole reason why Koushiro was able to figure out that it Menoa was behind Eosmon was because its data was entirely unnatural, clearly looked man-made and was constructed using algorithms and concepts that were also found in Menoa's research. She programmed it from scratch, that's what gave her away.

Pretty much the entire basis of the movie was "your digimon is a sign youre still a kid. you should move on and be an adult without digimon"

who would have guessed that a strangely oversimplified take on the movie would lead to strangely oversimplified take on marketing strategies...

pipimon never became oikawa's partner until he was in his 50s.
Mid thirties at the most.

Oikawa just looked 50 because he was possessed by that Mon that wouldn't die. But that's just what I was thinking just now.

I took the lines from the dub. The official subs of the Japanese movie are the same thing written only slightly differently too.

one night Calumon got drunk and fell into a hole full of Kodokugumon while firing it´s evo-beam, resulting in all the Parasimon from the tamers: runaway movie.

Ok so in my fanverse season, the seven great demon lords are definitely associated with their sin but it’s in more of a positive form but an extreme,

Daemon gets angry easy but it’s more of how passionate he is,

lilithmon is lusted for but she’s exceedingly loving,

barbamon is greedy but only because he intended to use the wealth to help others

Beelzemon is a glutton but only because he wants to be the life of the party and make others around him happy

belphemon is a sloth but only because of how hard he physically works

leviamon is envious but he uses it to strive to be a better digimon instead of trying to harm others and take what’s theirs

and finally lucemon is prideful to the extent of “I am the hype” because he knows he must set a good example and always appear to be in control of the situation, he also prefers to remain in his rookie form unless absolutely necessary and his Satan mode / X form are unlocked by his twin partners one who embodies his light and the other darkness

all of the demon lords have partners that embody the same sin as them and they come from various points in time and around the world, lucemon is the only one to have two partners as it fits his duality

and by the current point of the story which ties into adventure/02 their partners are essentially digital ghosts whose original human bodies are long since dead, they seek to guide the digidestend from the shadows and steer them away from Yggdrasil who like always is kind of extreme
This idea is awesome and similar to an idea I had for a Digimon Adventure AU where the the partner digimon are the reincarnations/successors of the Seven Great Demon Lords.

Glad you liked it, it’s a running story me and my wife talk about,

personally in your version I’d give lilithmon to kari, as lilithmon was originally ophanimon,

and give Daemon/Creepymon to tk as its original form is seraphimon,

I’d personally have matt and tai share lucemon since it fits how they together make omnimon and are the most important pair in the series

I’d probably give joe leviamon to fit the original water based line of gomamon,

izzy would get barbamon since he’s a wise old wizard/ spell caster

mimi would get belphemon since there are quite a few times were in the original she’s kinda lazy and puts stuff off on others

And finally sora gets beelzemon due to the blast mode he gets, which like in tamers would be triggered by the love he has for his partner

just my personal opinions XD
