tri. Art from February Animedia

More tri. art, and the subject this time the subject is a bit unexpected!



The new issue of Animedia features some fun art of the young versions of Maki and Daigo eating a cake with Bakumon and Bearmon.

This is some of the nicest art we've gotten of Maki and Daigo when they were young (and I think it's the clearest look we've gotten at the design of Daigo's goggles.)



Also, thanks to our friend onkeikun, we have what some may consider to be a spoiler from some of the text on the page.

The article says the mystery deepens since Daigo is buried underground and Himekawa has wandered into Dagomon's Ocean

Neither aspect is 'really' a spoiler, but just in case (feel free to skip using spoiler tags when discussing it past this post though.)

I find it very interesting that they refer to "Dagomon's Ocean" instead of the Dark Ocean or Dark World. Surely they're not going to throw Dagomon in there now at the last minute? Then again, it is Tri... Anyway, I'm interested to see where this goes, even though it probably means nothing.

And it looks like Daigo might just be buried instead of whisked off somewhere like a lot of people have been theorizing.

Edit: TMS they already showed his Deep Ones. So yeah... Who knows where they're going with all this.

I love this spread to death. It's so cute. I love that these two got a spread before the end of tri. Especially since they didn't get a spot on the last poster. They are just as important as the rest of the cast. It really should have been everyone imo.

I'm a little bummed there wasn't a small tease of new info in there about the story. Usually the animedia has just a smidge of a hint of something. Not much, but it would still be nice. Guess we are stuck waiting for the next trailer. I would have liked to have had more info on them in general. Will we ever know of their other three comrades?

Which btw my Bullcrap schedule says Jan. 19th. So keep your eyes peeled next Friday!! I kid. Please don't believe me. It's totally wrong. lol It will probably be some time this month though...

Such a good artwork there!! Bearmon :3 I'm really glad they have decided to give some love to Maki and Daigo, and their partners. Hope this means "Our Future" will be focused on them.

Oh, I'm aware. It's just that generally it hasn't been referred to that way outside of the series. Even in the series, "Dagomon's Ocean" was only used twice, which was considerably less than the alternatives. Even in the recent Tri stage play, "Dark Ocean" is the term that's consistently used. It's just more general than specifically bringing up Dagomon, who has had no role in Tri so far.

Aww, Bakumon and Bearmon! Now if only we could see what the base forms of the other Digimon from this Chosen group were.

That sure is interesting. Nice to get backstory pictures and spoilers for the old kids. This is really going to be an interesting movie.

This leads me to believe that Maki will be back in the finale and bring closure on her character. We shall see though.

They actually look pretty cute together with their partner mons also I chuckled at the whole Daigo (and by extension Taichi probably) isn't dead just underground.

If they have a show showing the five originals, will they have a sequel with 3 more tamers? I love the pic of Maiko and Diego, and wish they show the other three tamers too.

That's a great image! I don't necessarily need to delve too heavily into their past for the last episode of tri, but getting these kinds of tidbits is great, and I don't want them to be forgotten either, after this is all over.

What I'm interested in is when did they went to the Digital world, how many years before Tai and his group? And it would be perfect if it shows some more flashbacks or even a separate film showing history of first digidestined.
