I wrote these two stories for a Digivolution poll by Kimm Bryan Arellano on the Digimon fans Facebook group.
Lunamon to Lekismon
Audrey never wanted trouble.
Even at the young age of 12, her life had been one long string of compromises. Always the last chosen, always taking the smallest slice of everything, always giving up the last piece of something.... just so nobody would get upset at her. She avoided confrontation like the plague. Hell, the only reason she came along for the ride was because her little brother, Jason, dragged her along. She didn't even want Lunamon, but was willing to accept her.
But now, things were starting to change. Here was Lunamon, firing Demi Dart after Tear Shot after Demi Dart for her. Because of Audrey, the whole team was going to become Blastmon's prisoners. And she wasn't going to do a thing about it. "I can't hold... them off... much longer," Lunamon panted. Audrey held her head in her hands. It was all going to be her fault, because she didn't do anything. "Now, are you gonna come quietly, or not?" Blastmon growled. Audrey had to come to a decision.
"...No," she boldly decided. "Huh?" Blastmon asked.
Audrey looked up, with resolution in both her face and her voice. "No! I'm not going to come quietly, you overgrown pile of rocks! You know, it's funny. I've been trying to avoid fighting all my life. But now, I have a reason *to* fight." As she clenched her fist, it began to emit a pink glow. Lunamon's Demi Dart attacks gave her enough time to look to her partner and smile.
"What the hell are you waiting for?" Kyle ranted, "DigiSoul Charge already!" Audrey nodded quickly, then took out her Digivice. She swung her arms around, forming a crescent, chanting, "DigiSoul...." Then, she swiftly dropped her DigiSoul-filled hand on top of the sensor. "Charge!" she finished, as she thrust her Digivice forward.
Lunamon absorbed the energy and began to transform. "Lunamon Digivolve to...." Her ears and body gained shades of blue. Her hands gained gloves with crescent moon marks on them. A light helmet formed on her head, along with a chain bracelet containing her moon pendant. Blue protrusions burst out of her back, and little rings with skull and crossbones appeared around the centers of her back feet. She jumped high into the air, covering the moon, then performed a diving kick back to the ground. "Lekismon!"

Lekismon to Crescemon
Our heroes were once again caught up in a battle. Kyle's Tankdramon prepared another attack. "Blast Gatling!" He fired all 3600 bullets he had in a second, and they managed to hit SkullMeramon on contact. It was a good hit, but had one drawback. Kyle facepalmed. "Aww man, how long's it gonna take for you to recharge?" he moaned. Tankdramon got to work. "Maybe a minute, I'm working as fast as I can."
Lekismon kept jumping and kicking and jump kicking some more, but seemed to be getting burned by SkullMeramon's body. This frustrated her partner to no end, as she tried to Full Charge her DigiSoul. First, it would cover her hand, then her arm for a second, but then back to her hand. Nothing! "Why is nothing WORKING!?" she practically screamed.
Things were looking rather bleak. Finally, Audrey dropped to her knees and began to gently weep in frustration. "I've tried everything. I'm more assertive than I used to be. I'm actually fighting now. Why can't I help?" Lekismon stopped attacking long enough to join her partner and gently put her hand on her back. "Maybe you're trying too hard," she said. Audrey looked up, with tears in her eyes. "Huh?" "Audrey, I've been watching you ever since you gained the ability to charge your DigiSoul. Yes, you've been more assertive and less of a pushover, but you're headed in the wrong direction. Life is about balance. There's a time to fight and a time to give in. You used to not fight at all, now you fight everything. That's wrong." "But... but..." "Life is about picking your battles. You don't need to give in all the time, but you don't need to fight all the time, either. Balance."
Audrey thought it over. "Balance..." She tried to bring herself to a mental balance. She closed her eyes and looked inside herself. Maybe Lekismon was right. Maybe she was going overboard in the other direction. In that moment, Audrey brought herself to a momentary place of zen. She centered herself and calmed her mind, all while maintaining focus. "Lekismon is right," she thought out loud, "Sometimes I can let go, and sometimes, I need to fight. Right now, my friends are counting on me. Kyle... Jason.... Michelle.... even that geeky Paul.... they need me to be the best person I can. If I'm a better person, I can be a better part of the team. ..What's this? My-- my heart. It feels so... warm."
She opened her eyes. Her body was covered with pink aura. Jason's WarGrowlmon took notice. "Hey, Jason! Look at Audrey!" Jason got a good look for himself and smiled. "Way to go, sis!"
Audrey couldn't believe it. However, after looking at the battle at hand, she regained her focus. "Ready, Lekismon?" she asked. "Ready!" her partner said, letting out a thumbs-up.
Audrey took out the Digivice from her pocket and went to work. "Here we go! DigiSoul!" She struck what she thought was a rather dramatic pose, as the Digivice's screen read "EVOLUTION". Audrey gracefully swung her free arm up to the sky. "Full....." Then, she brought her hand down to the top of her Digivice. "CHARGE!" The Digivice absorbed her DigiSoul. Then, with a mighty "HA!", she thrust it towards Lekismon, who absorbed the light spewing from the screen.
"Lekismon Digivolve to...." Lekismon began to transform again, as the protrusions became harder and sharper. She gained a helmet adorned with a pink ribbon, a suit of armor, and fancy shoes that looked a bit like ballet slippers. This new Digimon grabbed the two Nova Luna blades in her hands and swung them around gracefully. A crescent moon formed in the background, giving her a shield. She posed. "Crescemon!"
