The last few months have been slow in adding old (obscure) Digimon to the Reference Book, as most additions have been Ghost Game related, but we'll see what 2023 will bring.

I see! It was like the smallest of cameo's, though. But glad they didn't forget about its existence. Same for Moonmon and Sunmon.

One odd edge case is Archnemon’s humanoid form; it’s appeared in 2 anime and the game Survive (with different outfits each time), and the species’s DRB profile does mention it being able to take on a humanlike appearance, but this human form despite being recurring and fairly iconic still lacks a DRB profile or bandai art (outside of the Survive in-game sprites). Mummymon’s human form is less-recurring, and it is not stated in the DRB that it is a species ability (which would make it more akin to the human forms of species like Piemon and Makuramon) but kind of one of a pair with Archnemon, so adding that as well would be nice.

Notably, Scumon Daiou was established as a proper species when we all assumed it to simply be a recurring character.

@miru I assume the omission was deliberate so they change the design as necessary.

While Ghost Game used a similar design to 02, Arukenimon’s human form in Survive has some major design differences beyond a change in outfit; namely her hairstyle.

Bandai presumably doesn’t want to box itself by making a standardized human form design, especially since any human form artwork would presumably be added to the existing Arukenimon profile page rather than be given its own individual profile.

I think it's also a good idea to not have the audience know for sure if a character is Arukenimon or not until it's revealed. Not having an established design for that form can make some cool moments

I actually assumed ghost game was meant to be somewhat of a design update. Kinda like how black imperialdramon got an updated look. Either way though, I like that she has different human forms. Gives them freedom to make her fit better with the aesthetic of media she appears in.

Freedom, huh. Personally IMO some inexperienced Arukenimons will have less impressive looking ladies will be hunted before they prey.
Few Arukenimon with tons of experiences will have amazing looking lady appearances to prey easier and almost have perfect crimes to get away with anything. But still, in the end it's only my headcanon.

After watched a certain video about Lost Digimon, I think "Bu" from oldest Digimon manga will never get redesign or resurface for sure...
But to my surprise, Dominimon actually resurfaced so I really can't wait to see Regulumon who lost his name to Regulusmon to resurface.

Hakkaimon wouldn't really be a thing since Cho Hakkai is just the Japanese reading of the name Zhu Bajie, the character Cho-Hakkaimon is based on and named after.

You know, funny I brought up Mugendramon a few posts back. While Mugendramon (Heart) and Mugendramon (Spade) aren't really anything to write home about, it does have a few variants of its own nevertheless. There's its original PS1 design, the Xros Wars version that didn't have cannons, and also the red, cannon-less version that Taichi's Agumon evolved into in Adventure:.

I think I too would like to see a megatgeriumon since we have the ancient version. Same with most of the other ancient mons. But I also don't think some of those would work. The "beat" in Ancientbeatmon, if I'm not mistaken, is probably supposed to mean beetle and we have numerous beetle digimon that he serves as the ancient version of. And tigervespamon isn't the tiger version of a "vespamon" he is just a digimon based on a tiger wasp (Asian giant hornet). As for things like birdmon, I don't think that's specific enough as we have many bird digimon. Also, wouldn't ballmon just be shootmon? And wouldn't satamon just be devimon since sata is short for satan?

Yeah, not every Digimon with a prefixed name suggests a non-prefixed version of that Digimon.

Still, I do think that Greymon, Garurumon, Volcamon, Wisemon, and Mermaimon suggests that there might be non-Ancient versions of the remaining Warrior Ten. Though I do wonder about "Beatmon", since AncientBeatmon is technically more like an Ancient Kabuteri-Kuwagamon. But who knows? Maybe they can pull a Dracomon and release a Child meant to act as a common link between insect lines.
