After the D-Ark teaser a week ago we were waiting to see what would pop up as we near the end of the 20th Anniversary of Digimon Tamers, and it's a fun one...

The Complete Selection Animation prop Digivices have been one of the great successes at Premium Bandai since they started doing them with tri., but the formula has gotten a bit stale, so it looks like it's time for an upgrade to Super Complete Selection Animation...

d-ark_scsa_jenrya02_january30_2022.jpg

So first up, all 3 leads get a new SCSA D-Ark. These are brand new molds meant to look as accurate to the show as possible, and each includes 10 cards.

d-ark_scsa_ruki03_january30_2022.jpg

The cards are tailored to each D-Ark, and the upgrades to the CSA include how they work as a prop...

First up...

d-ark_scsa_ruki04_january30_2022.jpg
d-ark_scsa_jenrya04_january30_2022.jpg

The new molds are scaled up over the 15th Anniversary D-Ark molds. The new molds hide the battery cover and screw holes.

d-ark_scsa_takato05_january30_2022.jpg
d-ark_scsa_ruki05_january30_2022.jpg
d-ark_scsa_jenrya05_january30_2022.jpg

Each SCSA D-Ark includes voices of the Tamers and Digimon from the set (evolutions included), along with Culumon.

Like prior CSA Digivices, this includes songs from Tamers, including Biggest Dreamer, along with character conversations.

There are volume controls to adjust the volume.

Now, one of the big upgrades...

d-ark_scsa_takato06_january30_2022.jpg
d-ark_scsa_ruki06_january30_2022.jpg
d-ark_scsa_jenrya06_january30_2022.jpg

The screens are full color and high resolution, to show off animations and other details. Prior CSA Digivices had no screens, and instead used a light setup with some hidden mirrors to show off evolution details.

A sample video showing off the screen..

The screen has a nice look to it, and is either a round screen, or set in so it appears round, matching the round display that sometimes appeared in the show over the D-Arks. Various animations from the show have been reproduced, and the screen has a pretty nice look to it, suggesting quite likely the best screen we've seen on a Digimon LCD toy.

The screen also had brightness adjustment.

And then for prop playability...

d-ark_scsa_ruki07_january30_2022.jpg
d-ark_scsa_jenrya07_january30_2022.jpg

The D-Ark has an NFC reader in it, with NFC embedded into the cards, so that when you card slash it activates functions on the D-Ark. This includes 'regenerating' evolutions using cards and more.

Pre-orders go up at Premium Bandai roughly 2.5 hours after this post for 14,300 yen each. Pre-orders close March 9th and they ship in September.
Digimon Tamers Super Complete Selection Animation D-Ark Takato Version
Digimon Tamers Super Complete Selection Animation D-Ark Ruki Version
Digimon Tamers Super Complete Selection Animation D-Ark Jenrya Version

And adding this since occasionally someone has bought a CSA without actually knowing what it is. This is not a V-Pet or an adventuring game Digivice. This is a very fancy prop/replica style item with audio/visual elements.

A rather nice bit of fun as the anniversary comes to a close to see a wild upgrade to a pre-existing line. Not cheap though...

A few extra bits...

Premium Bandai Japan is currently harder to access, so a bit extra for those who want to pre-order and not wait to see if there is an international release.

Some intermediaries will want not only the urls of the items above, but may ask for the product name in Japanese as written on the page. The order below is Takato, Ruki, Jenrya:
デジモンテイマーズ Super Complete Selection Animation ディーアーク ver.松田啓人
デジモンテイマーズ Super Complete Selection Animation ディーアーク ver.牧野留姫
デジモンテイマーズ SuperCompleteSelectionAnimationディーアークver.李健良

In addition, Nippon-Yasan should be considered defunt at this point. If you have outstanding orders you have paid for, go file a dispute with your method of payment for nondelivery of merchandise.

If you want to be sure to nab something...

We've currently pared down the list of intermediaries we list due to some places closing and others becoming iffy in their communication, calling into question their reliability. If you have any stories, positive or negative, about any intermediaries, DM me with them so we can figure out who might be worth adding (or re-adding), since these aren't affiliate links or anything, simply suggested ways to make it easier for fans to nab stuff.

You'll want to contact an intermediary to get these items sent to you. WtW is not affiliated with any, but here are a selection of intermediaries that have worked well for various WtWers and their friends in the past:
From Japan
Rider Proxy

You'll want to provide your chosen intermediary with the link to the item. Just copy paste the link to the product pages for what you want and send them a message about it and they'll take care of it after they discuss pricing and their policies with you. The links embedded in the news article for the products are exactly what you'll need to send them.

Some of the intermediaries have a full storefront and may have the item listed, so you may want to check that first.

I'm dreaming. This is not real life....

This is waaaay more than I was hoping for! All three colors!? Color screen!? We've dreamt of something like this for 20 years! I'm so happy!

Hey, Henry gets one too this time, good for him.

Those color screens are pretty neat, especially compared to what we usually see, and the replication of things like the radar and whatnot are pretty slick. I'll probably pass though, despite that being a sweet card selection. Those buttons look awful flimsy too...

Well, that's cool but disappointing. At least my wallet is safe. The cosplay stuff isn't my thing, hope this is a test for coloured v-pets/digivices in the future.

At least I won't have to sell my ver.15th's like I did with the ver.complete
Also will be the first time i actually care about the csa thanks to the colour screens.
The previous CSA's just seemed like extremely lazy merch.
They also skipped out on Henry's design with the ver.15th's so thats nice as well.

I was somewhat hoping for a 'Ver. Complete' D-Ark update like the most recent one for Adventure with similar animations and (perhaps) the first color screen for an old model Digivice. Seeing the words 'Complete Selection Animation' had me groaning, "Oh noooo..." Then seeing the round screen animations for the compass, evolution, and card slash functionality made me go, "Oh shit!" This is right up there with Takato's box that came with every card slashed in the series for me. Tamers doesn't get a huge amount of quality merch, but when it does... I mean, damn. And nice to see Henry included for once! Can we maybe finally get that remaining GEM figure if they sell enough green here? Far too pricey and impractical to go for the entire set, but I'll definitely be picking up Rika's. I had really given up hope that my aging tiny Tamers display was going to gain any new pieces at all after the slew of mediocre 20th anniversary merch last year. Nice last second save, Bandai!

Now if Frontier could just get some love this year...

Side note - There's something mildly amusing about bothering to include High Speed Plug-In D, a card that (probably) only exists in the first place because someone on the show either wrote or said the wrong letter, and then simultaneously printing the wrong Snimon.

I think, we won't get the D-Ark Ver. Complete until we get the "newest" movie of Tamers. Maybe we'll get D3 Ver. Complete after the upcoming movie of 02.

Yes, they can. They will unlock unique sounds and animations in each other's D-Arks.

Hey everyone! I'm a MASSIVE tamers fan and I JUST discovered that these were coming out. I see you could have pre-ordered up until like 3 days ago (of course that is my luck) in USA, would they have shipped to Canada though? or no? I just went on Ebay and pre-ordered Jenrya's GREEN D-ARK for about $250 Canadian total including shipping. That's about $200 total in American dollars. So obviously it's a BIT more than doing so from the official website, but I don't think they would have shipped to Canada anyway. I'm pretty excited as I never would have thought this would ever be released! I remember back in 2002 calling Toys R Us every single day trying to get the green d-power (remember they always had more Red/Blue ones shipped to each store). I still have it almost MINT on my shelf. I originally watched all of Tamers in Japanese before it was even translated for FOX KIDS. Now I own the English DVD sets. Obviously.... I'm a fan. I had to re-join these forums some 15 years later as I was originally a member. Curious if anyone else here pre-ordered and which one you chose?

Any update on the release date? It's now Sept 2022 which is when the original hopeful release date would be..

Not in the least bit. All news died after the reveal. I preordered it but am weary now due to the lack of information. It would be nice to see something current.

You're telling me! I bought off ebay and flat out paid it off! It's a legit seller so I'm not too afraid. But still....... but crazy there hasn't been any news in some months!
Thanks for the reply!

It isn't crazy at all. It's rather normal.

Special order items in this vein tend to tell you what they are going to mostly before pre-orders close, maybe with something around shipping.

There is little to no expectations of random updates for no reason.

People in Japan have stared to receive theirs and are showing em off on Twitter. So I would imagine, depending on your intermediary, people will be hearing sooner rather than later.
