The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega. This time we get Takumi!

Another game character! Takumi is the first white Tamer card we've gotten, and his art is his pre-existing profile artwork from Cyber Sleuth by Suzuhito Yasuda. It has a nice minimal style background applied to it.

Digimon Card Game Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega is scheduled to release on February 26th.

Previous card previews for Booster Set 5:

We have clean card images for Booster Set 4 Great Legend.

We also have begun to get details about Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega, including our first look at art via DigiNavi!

And images from previous Digimon Card Game releases:
Starter Decks 1, 2, and 3, and first 10 promo cards
Booster Set 1 New Evolution
Booster Set 2 Ultimate Power
V-Tamer Promo Cards
Purple/Black Promo Set

Takumi Aiba
[Your turn] Whenever a digimon you own Digivolves, you may suspend this Tamer to draw 1 card
[All Turns] All Lv. 3 digimon get [When Attacking] lose 1 Memory
[Security] Play this card without paying its cost

card draw and rookie rush counter all on one white card? Takumi strutted in knowing dang well he wanted to impress everybody. Is Mastemon the only other Story representative?

A decent omni deck card (pun partially intended) also kills classic rookie rush more than previous cards have as we still don't have a direct way to remove opponent's tamers outside of them evolving them. and nothing evolves from white

Takumi seems really nice, definitely a nice way to introduce us to White Tamers. Gonna assume Takumi is basically the equivalent of Taiga from BT-2 and we'll be getting Nokia later in White to go alongside Takumi, since it just seems like a massive missed opportunity to pull from Cyber Sleuth for the Omegamon set and not use the character who actually has an Omegamon.

Anyways, Takumi is neat. Good way to turbo your Digivolution bonuses (though do note that as always, Takumi won't work on something evolving in the Raising Area) and has a decent stun effect against Rookie Rush and other Lv3 swarm decks, though it also works against you so it could potentially backfire if you need to use your own Lv3's to close out a game, but I digress. Seems like a really interesting card all the same.

Very clever making him a white card since he doesn't have a singular canonical Partner.

Niceee I've been waiting for this moment. Nice effect too.

I guess Examon or Alphamon could be in the set but I doubt it. Too much level 7 Digimon already and I don't see Alphamon appearing without the Ouryuken mode + I think it would have already been hinted somewhere (though it matches the theme of the set).

Always lovely to see the non-anime characters get represented. Makes sense to have Cyber Sleuth too since Nokia had Omegamon by the end.

I guess White is becoming a proper Colour now which will be interesting to see how that'll affect things, especially if we get White Option cards to round out Digimon and Tamers.

Up til now, I've just seen White as a Null colour. Like this Takumi Card is good for Draw Power and Rookie Rush counter, but his downside is, you can't use him for Option Cards. Unless, would you have White Option Cards be playable without needing a certain colour on the field, which could be their niche?

Cyber Slueth, woohoo. Would've preferred Ami but oh well. Hopefully Yuuko for more Cyber Sleuth characters.

When you said Takumi I wasn't sure if Aiba or Hiiragi from Rearise till I opened.

To be fair, there's no story or anything that would prevent them from making both male and female MCs as cards eventually. I suspect the fact that there's likely only going to be two slots for Video-Game Tamers as was the case in BT-02 is the reason why they settled on one version of Aiba this time as they wanted the other slot to go to another character (likely either Nokia or the Next Order MCs for the Omegamon connection).

Here's hoping they won't forget Ami and eventually cycle back to making her a card as well.

They could've just had both on it and referred to it as the singular "Aiba", since they're basically the same character anyway.

If they called it Aiba, but had alt art for both versions, that would have been cool. But yeah, hopefully Ami's gonna have her own card.

Huh white/colorless Tamer card? It sure looks so nice. I hope they will release Tamer cards of Dawn/Dusk.

Oh yeah also Redigitize and Frontier characters, too.

Technically, I think it's a World 2 case where side material says his partners are the three initial choices as Ultimates? I'm not sure though. It'll depend on whether or not he shows up in future games, I guess.

His partner is absolutely Alphamon though, they got on like a house on fire.

Yeah pretty sure he's said to have the 3 options but thats kind of a cop out in a sense. At least Sayo and Koh have Luna and Corona no argument about it.

I do love that we are getting game tamers... since honestly some of the game characters are some of my favorite humans. Nokia grew on me a lot and I think Nikolai looked cool I don't know enough about Re:Digitize but doesn't stop me from enjoying Nikolai's design. I do hope we get some sort of card representation for Hiro Akira and Junior. Hiro with Agu or Gabu- I feel red might be a bit lacking in diversity so red for Hiro? Akira i'm not sure maybe another white? Junior... Bear Koe and Kote... Yellow perhaps?

Obviously Koh would be yellow and Sayo purple.

In the Manga Takumi gets all three of Terriermon, Hagurumon, and Palmon and they evolve to Gargomon, Guadromon, and Togemon during the one shot.

In the game itself, you fight a clone of yourself during the Master Cup (with no explanation as to why this clone exists, it just does) and it has MegaGargomon, HiAndromon, and Rosemon.

So the "canon", if you want to call it that, is that Aiba actually gets all three starters. (Same for Keisuke in the HM manga).

That's what I thought, yeah. It's important because if and when he shows up later, it'll be with those.

Or Alphamon.

That said, over:under on at least one of those three lines being in the set?

Would Pulsemon be a partner for Takumi Aiba if they made the cards that is.
