The first actual Survive related news in nearly a year and a half!

The Australian Classification ratings board has given Digimon Survive a classification as of today.

It gets a PG for 'Mild fantasy violence and coarse language'

It was graded PG in 'Themes', 'Violence' and 'Language'.

I believe Australia uses a video submission system for grades, where the company submits a video containing the standard content for the game, and the grade is given based on that, so it doesn't give us specific info on where the game is at this point, minus that Bandai has at the very least begun to submit it for ratings. Hopefully that bodes well and actual information and updates will show up soon.

Thanks to RPGSite for the heads up.

I think this means that the game might be still alive and is not being cancelled, but I dunno

Not much but it's better than nothing, at least it means the game is still being worked on.

Not that this might not mean something, but I'll believe it when I see it lol. Still, would be neat to see an update, and what it looks like at this point.

You realize you are comparing two different rating systems from different countries, right?
Australia does not even have a 12+ category, the next step up is already M (recommended for 15+) and both cyber sleuth games were rated PG.

somewhere
I don't trust this means anything until I see something concrete. Survive has strung me out enough already and this could be barely anything.

It's not impossible.

America's systems used to be similar, too.

C'mon, Survive! (pun intended). I am really looking forward to play this game, actually

Indeed, hopefully it's constrained to gameplay tweaks as I have become very attached to cast and the story as far as we know and I would be sad if any of that changed.

Using the Australian classification dates (using western release dates)

Hacker's Memory: classified 18 October 2017, came out January 19, 2018

Next Order: 25 October 2016 - January 27, 2017

Cyber Sleuth: 19 October 2015 - February 2, 2016

ReArise: 07 October 2019 - October 7, 2019 (lol same day)

Anyway it seems that, if the pattern holds up, maybe Survive will be out - in English - around January/February 2022 (or maybe even 2 months earlier since those were all applied for in October and this is August)

It's nice to finally get something that isn't an announcement about a delay. I'll remain optimistic about a future showcase.

did you just reverse quote Dewey from Malcom in the Middle? Lol.

Maybe Australia has looser standards but PG seems mild for a game advertised to have characters dying with imagery symbolic of blood in its trailer. Maybe that's just me 🤷‍♂️
