New card previews from the Digimon Card Game!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with more card previews from Booster Set 3 Union Impact. This time it's Sukamon and Chumon!

Both feature new artwork from Kenji Watanabe! Both feature them causing trouble (with cameos from eachother, along with a few other Digimon.) The coloring style looks like a nice detailed painted style, giving it a unique look from how Watanabe's art is often colored.



Digimon Card Game Booster Set 3 Union Impact is scheduled to release on October 30th.

Won't go over it in detail, since it's the same Omegamon card we saw shown off a bit ago for Booster 3 in Japan, we get a nice preview of Omnimon's card for US card booster 1.

US Boosters 1.0 and 1.5 will contain all the cards from Japanese boosters 1, 2, and 3, featuring their original numbering.

I have such a soft spot for urban punk that these artworks definitely hit. I always felt that the trash Digimon should be in purple, though, as they're not known to be very defensive Digimon and Purple likes to, you know, use the Trash as a resource?

And I'm glad the localised US/EU version is using Omnimon. Assumed it wouldn't after the Asian English site used Omegamon.

Chumon might be useful as a Black counterpart to Terriermon, but Sukamon seems underwhelming to be honest.

Chumon makes me wonder if every color will have an equivalent to Terriermon and it's something they want every deck to have an in-house way of running, similar to every color having a Lv4 Security Digimon with the same statline and effect. Would be nice all things considered given how integral Memory gain is to the game.

Sukamon doesn't look that great tbh, an excavation effect on destruction seems rather slow in a color that isn't Purple, since you're always gonna be waiting a turn to use it even if you just crash into Security due to Summoning Sickness and what have you. Would've much rather Sukamon just been similar to Petermon where it plays Chumon from your hand on Play or whatever, but I digress.

I'm not sure what card you mean but Chuumon's ability is also exactly the same as the green card Terriermon so it might be a whole rainbow of theoretical bans

So... In yugioh's vocabulary, floodgate is a type of card that dissables a mechanic continously.

Exs:
Summon Limit: either player can only summon twice.
There can be only one: either player can only control one monster with a type (you can't control two zombie monsters but you can control a machine and a zombie).
Buster Whelp of the destruction swordman: while this card is equipped to monster, your opponent can't summon from the extra deck (extra deck summon is a fusion for example)

Depending of the game and the format, floodgates can be too unfair
