The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a bonus card preview from Booster Set 6 Double Diamond. This time it's Omegamon!

This special, and previously unannounced, parallel card features the Omegamon art from Booster Set 1. It's being released to commemorate the first anniversary of the card game. While it features the same lineart as that card, it's done in a very striking way The main portion of the card is just white, with any coloring of Omegamon done in foil. Various other bits of the card are also foil, giving it a pretty impressive look, and is traditional for Omegamon cards, is likely going to end up being among the most expensive cards on the secondary market (assuming it does indeed end up being a relatively rare card.)

Booster Set 6 Double Diamond is scheduled for release on May 28th.

Honestly, this looks better than basically every card out there. The current cards have nice art, but it's all so... busy, especially at the higher rarity levels. A more minimal approach is way cool.

certainly a nice parallel (pun intended) to the DBS cards than can be such a busy mess of flashiness that it's hard to read the card text

You certainly think so precisely because this card has a unique style.
If the styles were reversed and all the cards had a minimalist approach, I think you'd love to see one with a slightly more complex art.

Yes and no; I still think the other "alt art" cards are too busy. Part of it's the card layout; I think the text box arrangement is pretty bad, and it's aping too much of Pokemon's "GIANT ART EVERYWHERE" modern day approach. Obviously this is the nostalgia goggles, but I prefer the original card approach; uniform backgrounds allowing the character models themselves to shine.

So yeah, if all the cards had a minimalist style, seeing a card with more complex art would be a breath of fresh air, but I'd prefer that overall at a minimum, vs what we have now.
