Siriusmon Saikyo Jump Promo Card Preview

The Digimon Card Game site has put up a small preview of the Siriusmon promo card coming with the January 2023 Extra Large issue of Saikyo Jump, which we first saw a small thumbnail sized preview of recently.

The card features anime style art of Siriusmon, and is the first decent quality image we have of him that isn't a sprite.

Saikyo Jump was also where the first Gammamon card was given away.


The January 2023 Extra Large issue of Saikyo Jump will be released on December 2nd.

He looks cool. Sadly, I don't like the guns for arms, I hope he have an ultra Evo form. I wonder he will get one to fuses with Jellymon's Mega Evo and Angoramon's Mega.

I could see the trio's Ultra form to be like Omegamon meets Gallantmon Crimson Mode,because Siriusmon's face reminds me of Omegamon.

Eh, these anime-esque card arts in front of a generic background don't do it for me.

But now that we atleast have some slightly better presentation of him rather than the sprite art I notice he shares quite a bit of similarities with BlitzGreymon.

I love it, looks like a mix of Jesmon, Blitzgreymon, Omegamon, and Gundam, where does gun arms inspired by the Exia from Gundam 00?

all of gammamon forms look amazing, not one of them disappoint.

anyway I hope those cannon arms are more like dukemons and not like omegamons, coz dukemon can have normal arms and hands with 5 fingers in each, he just transforms them to shield and Lance.

agreed. I don't hate it it's just generic feeling especially for a dragon man digimon. The cannon arms are interesting some people but.... so many digimon have energy cannons. However, some Ghost Game designs look way better animated in Ghost Game like how great Espimon looks to me in the show despite when I wasn't crazy for its design when we only had static art.

Honestly when I first saw this card in other topic, I really didn't expect Gammamon's Ultimate level to be very BlitzGreymon-ish and Jesmon-ish combined but more bulkier.

Only I see very few good points on him:

Bulkier unlike all other Ultimate forms in each Digimon season, all stomach designs always happened to be very... Extreme thinner.
BlitzGreymon guns plus Exia's blade guns
Got the UlforceVdramon/Dynasmon wings.

I think it's more of WezenGammamon's Ultimate form rather than Canoweissmon even if he is Adult level...

Truth be told, I was hoping we could 86 the robot guy level 6 this time in favor of sticking more firmly to the triceratops dragon vibe. There are design elements I think are good, like the helmet keeping the 3 horn motif and the red/white color scheme along with the black wings, but this isn't doing it for me the way that Canoweissmon did when I saw it.

The effect is also somewhat unexciting. I guess it is a Jump Promo and it's better that a card which is somewhat less available be less powerful to compensate, but I'm hoping that by the time I see it in GG I'll have warmed up to it and that it's next iteration in the card game be a little more splashy.

This design definitely screams Blitzgreymon and UlforceV-dramon to me. I don't hate the design. Might need to see it outside of it's Jump promo anime-esq artwork.

Ya i agree with most even my pal from discord pointed out Siriusmon is similar to Blitz but i also see a bit of WGM in their mainly the legs.

So far i don't hate the design do love how Siriusmon arm cannons are similar to Gundam Exia GN sword but i do hope like WGM Siriusmon can detach them if they get damaged.

I like it has a bulky frame, but I am feeling unsure about other design elements. I will have to see it in action and see more art of it by other artists to form a better opinion of it, I think.

I was actually thinking about this yesterday: how the original MetalGreymon evolved from Greymon, Devimon, and Airdramon and how I can see design features from all three of those Digimon. Both Airdramon and Devimon have tattered wings like MetalGreymon but they all share something unique with it, Greymon being the obvious body shape, Devimon's being the virus/undead attributes, and Airdramon I like to headcanon is where MetalGreymon gets its hair.
That would then translate over to WarGreymon. Just a theory

I find all these comparisons to other Digimon incredibly amusing considering no one has brought up the 'mon he actually resembles most: Gaiamon. ...or is that too obvious?

I'm not really feeling the design. I wouldn't be surprised if the card art itself is playing a part, but I find what I'm seeing somewhat bland which is a shame as I felt the sprite gave me a better impression of him. Maybe the anime or Bandai artwork will sell him more, but just going off of this I'm a little underwhelmed.
