Some new figures about to go up for pre-order!

Digimon Adventure: is getting a series of Shodo figures. Shodo are a series of generally nice, but very affordable, figures from Bandai featuring well known characters.

The teaser isn't much of a teaser, since they announced the figures at the same time, but wave 1 will be...

WarGreymon, Angewomon, and Garudamon!

Each of these will be roughly 3.1 inches tall and 2.4 inches wide.

These are basic action figures with a decent level of detail and poseability, but minimal in extra frills and features to keep the cost reasonable.

The text describes the version at Premium Bandai as a 'Premium Bandai Limited' version, so we expect they will show up normally also, but for now, the details of the Premium Bandai version...

The Premium Bandai version will come with a stand for each of them with their respective associated crest on them.

In addition...

The 3 boxes will each be included in a special collectors box featuring new artwork of the 3 Digimon drawn by longtime Digimon designer Kenji Watanabe. (They note the art they are showing is an early rough version of the art.)

Each figure also comes with a piece of soda flavored gum.

A few more images of the figures before pre-order details...

At the moment no details of the standard release, but for the special collectors box....

Pre-orders are open at Premium Bandai for 4,950 yen. The figures ship in October. Pre-orders 'may' close early if they hit certain numbers.

Update- Pre-orders are open for the limited set.

Update- Bandai Candy has announced the standard release of these will be in candy sections of stores in October for 950 yen each, and that they plan to have all 8 partner Digimon released.

Some nice looking affordable figures, which should be in line with what a number of people were hoping to see with a new anime running.

And of course, they mention these are wave 1 and they tease wave 2...

You'll want to contact an intermediary to get these items sent to you. WtW is not affiliated with any, but here are a selection of intermediaries that have worked well for various WtWers and their friends in the past:
From Japan
Rider Proxy
Nippon-Yasan

The Bandai Premium store has also chosen to affiliate themselves/recommend a few potential shops to be used as intermediaries for non-Japanese buyers:
Buyee
From Japan (this From Japan link shows various items that they waive commission fees for.)
Samurai Buyer
DEJapan

You'll want to provide your chosen intermediary with the link to the item. Just copy paste the link to the product pages for what you want and send them a message about it and they'll take care of it after they discuss pricing and their policies with you. The links embedded in the news article for the products are exactly what you'll need to send them.

Some of the intermediaries have a full storefront and may have the item listed, so you may want to check that first.

They better do Lilymon and Zudomon. I see Wave 1 has WarGreymon, Garudamon, and Angewomon. Wave 2 has MetalGarurumon, MegaKabuterimon, and MagnaAngemon so they better do Lilymon and Zudomon too.

I was waiting to see what kind of more lower-tier figures they might come up with for the average toy audience (as in, y'know, kids =P). I might invest in this to see what the quality is like; it's no Digivolving Spirits, but at least some kind of consistency would be nice.

Damn I really wished they were scaled a bit bigger to go with the other toy lines... Oh well.
At least the mamemon line would go perfect with the other figures at this size. The armor digimon would also look pretty cool at 3.1 inches, especially quadrupedal ones like raidramon and halsemon.

Even though they're planning to do all 8 of them, each wave has 3 characters and that's 6/8 of them, then there's a good chance that they're leaving out Lilymon and Zudomon.... Again? Or who could the 3rd character be in their wave? Possibly Omnimon?
Well the Digivolving Spirits line also promised all 8 and look where we are now

4950 yen for 3 with stands or 950 individually? Strange pricing

They are 950 yen a piece. The complete set costs 4,500 yen (4,950 with tax) with the stands. 950 times 3 is 2,850. 4,500 take away 2,850 is 1,650. 1,650 divided by 3 is 550. So the stands are 550 yen each. 950 plus 550 equals 1,500.
