Time for some more Digimon X2 info!



It's time for MonMon Memo 35! This time they give some information about raising your Digimon in the Digimon X2 V-Pets, along with a reveal of a changed mechanic...


They first note that the second order period has begun for the Digimon X2 Red and Purple.



They call it... Raising Information- Road to the Devil!

They will introduce important info on aiming for a Demon King Digimon in the X2.

Speaking of raising and evolution... It's fun to raise while thinking about what Digimon will show up in evolution next, and is one of the fun features of the Digimon series.

In training with the X2, they want to aim for one of the Seven Great Demon Lords, but the two digimon that will give you the greatest likelihood of getting a Demon Lord...


Appearing in the Red is Agumon (Black) X and in Purple is Impmon X as child level Digimon.

These positions were taken by Renamon X and Dracomon X in the previous V-Pet.


Normally you'd want to raise your Digimon carefully all the way to perfect, but this time the to key to getting a Demon Lord is in Yaamon. Instead of raising him right, you have to try something different to evolve to either Agumon (Black) X or Impmon X.

The concept is the influences on the Baby will affect growth. The route between Baby and Child is the most important. After that, you can raise the Digimon to perfection like usual.

Please enjoy the unusual concept that influencing the Digimon in this form will affect it's growth later. This is a unique concept to the X2 and it's storyline from the point of view of evil.
*This is an additional element only during it's Baby to Child period, so aim for a perfect training route after that.
*There are other ways to aim for the route of the devil.


By the way, this MonMon Memo mentions a bit about training methods early in the X2, but there is a bit more about training...

One of the things that governs evolution of Digimon is experience and levels. It's an important system that brings out the fun and depth, and for those who have upgraded their level it makes winning a bit easier, but it can be a hard thing for some people (This applies to many in-house...)

EXP Coat!

With this help item, experience points will be doubled in the next quest battle, so you can support your attempt to increase your level. Use it before entering a high experience area and you might be able to raise your level and capture the map.



The X2 is getting more and more interesting... Stay tuned to the release of the X2 Red and Purple. MonMon Memo will return.

Mephismon X!

Its appearance has changed from a ram to that of an ewe; not only is it dressed in a ladylike fashion, its every move exudes grace and elegance. It gleefully uses its dark incantations to attack even those begging for their lives or those struggling hopelessly, casting death upon them.

I thought it'd be next week to reveal the next X form after being told by Yongko. But...

I really didn't know this X antibody could cause a genderswap on Mephismon.... Still but Mephismon is really "female"???

Look like it's Himeno Kagemaru who drew Mamemon species with X antibodies and BelleStarrmon X.

The wording is a bit confusing; but I do get that apparently, how it is raised in the Baby>Child stages will affect the entire evolution line, not just the Adult stage?

The Agumon/Impmon portion is also really confusing, but I'm assuming it means that, unlike the norm where you normally have to be very careful and perfect to get the "best" Child evolution, you'd have to be a "bad" parent instead? I also really like Black Agumon X as the "best" evolution in this V-Pet (though I wouldn't have mind PicoDevimon X instead). It has a nice juxtaposition with regular Agumon in past V-Pets; like you're still getting the standard Agumon option, but it's an evil Agumon for evil tamers instead.

All in all, I like Mephistomon X, both aesthetically and thematically. It's not out-of-theme, since demons are known to be sexually ambiguous (either by swapping between genders, or by being a hermaphrodite). D'arcmon>Murmukusmon is one precedent, but it's one of those things I wasn't really expecting too much from Digimon since it's of the sexual nature (then again, Mephistomon is literally Baphomet).

I never said we weren't getting one or we'll get one the week after. I said that there's no set pattern to the Twitter's X-Antibody tweets. They've been tweeting X-Antibodies nearly every weekday; it's just that the Digimon X2 has a lot of old X-Antibodies too, not just new ones. Excluding the old X-Antibodies tweets; they tweeted Ogremon X on June 30, DarkTyrannomon X on July 1, Numemon X on July 4, and now Mephistomon X on July 9. It's not on a weekly schedule.

What is on a weekly schedule is the MonMemo, which I said won't necessarily reveal new X-Antibodies. And it hasn't. This week's MonMemo has nothing about revealing new artwork. The new Mephistomon X artwork is from the Twitter, not from MonMemo.

Seriously though Digimon has always played fast and loose with gender and it's one thing I really love about it. Lady Devimon evolving from masculine Digimon like Devimon or Evilmon, Silphymon being a fusion of male-coded Aquilamon and female-coded Tailmon, Renamon straight up saying Digimon don't have a gender binary, and that's just to name a few.

I thought it was just only Dio (OVA version)'s man boobs Mephismon displayed at different artstyles just because... Demon Digimon's weird anatomy is so... All bizarre. Yeah...

Fair enough, I realized that was what you meant after the fact though D'Arcmon was more of a disguise in Island of the Lost Digimon.

Hmm, the only thing bothering me with the design is the head being a skull. Something more...animated to match the rest would be nice. But I certainly appreciate the weirdness!

I'd say it's odd to categorize regular Memphistomon as male since it being animalistic means its gender could be whatever if one was ever attached to it.

But at the same time, aren't X-antibody forms treated as pretty much separate forms from their regular counterparts just like evolutions are? Even if they weren't, how is gender identity any more significant a change than your head no longer having flesh on it anymore?

Mephismon and Mephismon X's design is based on Baphomet, which is sometimes portrayed as both male and female.
