So i decided to research these books before i picked them up, and surprisingly i couldn't find any other reference to them online. I just wondered whether anybody else
knew what these are.
Thanks.

I may be misremembering, but weren't they basically just the anime turned into manga form (like, using actual screenshots, like what they did with the Digimon movies in the Big Picture Book series)? As far as I know there was no Japanese "manga adaptation."

They were, hence the equivalent Tokopop Manga books. Except Tokopop did not use screenshots and were rather fluid with how they told the story.

I assume each book is an episode, based on the covers. So book one is Greymon vs Shellmon and book 2 is Garurumon vs Seadramon.

Also I actually had the Greymon one but with a different cover.

No, they're not just single episodes. The books are File Island Arc parts one through four, and Etemon Arc parts one and two.

Ah, I had a few for the first few episodes as a kid so fair enough.

I've never seen these covers before. Are these the actual Manhua, but translated into Japanese? Or are they screenshot collections with word bubbles?

The latter. They did the same thing for the movies in other books, as I mentioned earlier.

The manhua was also 5 volumes, not 7.

With volume 1 covering episodes 1-7. Volume 2 covering episodes 8-14 Volume 3'covering episodes 15-31. Volume 4 covering episodes 32-42 and volume 5 covering episodes 43-54.

Those books in the OP don't appear to go past the Etemon arc.
