Quartzmon & Option Card Gypt Particle Cannon Preview for Booster Set 12

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 12 Across Time. This time it's Quartzmon & Gypt Particle Cannon.

Quartzmon shows some large scale art of him causing chaos in DigiQuartz. Gypt Particle Cannon shows off the terminal form of Quartzmon while using a move that generates gypt particle waves, which erase whatever touches it from existence.

This is big and splashy and really sick, but I'm afraid that it's making promises it can't keep. It's the kind of card that makes you instinctively wanna look at all the upside of shearing a bunch of security and gaining memory, but I think the most relevant line of text is the [All Turns] on it.

If your board is super wide so you can take advantage of this, you could probably win through combat. If your opponent is so wide that this is a blowout they probably have the time to remove this with an Option or Digivolving effect.

Whether or not the Save deck is as good as I fear it may be might change that calculus.

I think this card is cool as hell and looks strong on it's face but I am suspicious. Worst case scenario he's a big ol orb. That's worth something to me.

I mean he fuses with the planet, which is the only reason I can think of for him being green. He also creates his own ecosystem (the digiquartz), so I guess theres that.

Pretty sad that Gaiamon can't even be allowed to exist for supposedly doing the same exact thing. Maybe some day (they did show very recently that they didn't completely forget about World 3's bosses, at least).

I am a bit disappointed that the effect is kind of a generic floodgate, I was hoping for more flavor and to be more xros-oriented.

Hoping the alternate art will focus on the very Evangelion-esque top of Quartzmon.

honestly, getting tcg cards and reference book entries are huge for the Bemmon line and they have pretty good chances to appear in some near future v-pets or video games. I'm not sure if we'll ever see Gaiamon but who knows, we have gotten evolutions for preexisting Megas out of nowhere in the past like GraceNovamon, Rafflesimon, and Voltobautamon

I think effect wise he seems to be a great level 7 option for hydramon/bloomlordmon decks since theyre fine with suspending their own digimon as well as creating massive boards. I think thats the main place he will see play since save decks seem to be more about having little guys die in security while building up a big single stack, meaning they wont get much advantage out of him like green spam decks will.

As for his option card, its kinda underwhelming for its cost, with no way to recoup memory or actually encourage it to be used in save decks. Heck, it should at least bottom-deck something since there are cards that wipe the board for the same or less cost.
