Previews of Kizuna Phone Cases & Digimon Hero Otedamas

With pre-orders opening for the a few other products fans voted on, we get a better look at a few more items. A few were on display at DigiFes, but this is the best look yet, along with a few new previews...


First up, is the Kizuna smartphone cases. They don't clarify if more models will be made than what is shown, to start with. The previews show Taichi and Yamato models, molded in what looks like a decent silicone. Based on the cutouts, these are for something in the iPhone 12 or 13 series.


And on top of that, we get previews of the 3rd series of fan vote otedama. The 3rd series was for hero characters who hadn't gotten an otedama yet! The ones being made are:
Gaomon from Savers
Shoutmon from Xros Wars
Gumdramon from Hunters
Offmon from Appmon


The winners aren't always chracters who get new products, so likely to be in high demand once they are out.

Well damn, and here I am with my Samsung Galaxy S8.
I honestly don't get why iPhone gets all the cool cases when, from what I hear from people who have used both, the only thing better about iPhone is the camera, while Android exceeds it in everything else. It's like Apple has a gun to someone's head, or something.
I wish it were possible to make a generic, "one size fits most" phone case model. Ah well. Maybe I can find a fan made on on Etsy or something.

I wish it were possible to make a generic, "one size fits most" phone case model. Ah well.

Android's overall claim to fame is that there's more you can do with the OS overall, which is accurate, and fair. But for a large number (until recently the majority, although I think that's shifted, but at least a plurality) of consumers, they don't NEED those additional options; Apple's "walled garden" sounds all 1984, but in truth, people recognize that their needs for a phone are somewhat limited, and they want a device that can deliver those precise needs in an efficient manner.

And Android's aren't limited to just Samsung devices, so that fractures the install base for hyper-specific accessories like phone cases. They shouldn't be THAT expensive to manufacture, but if for whatever reason you were forced to pick one, the consolidated phone type is a no-brainer.

All that said, I like these cases! They look really good. I remember I had these cases with a rubber insert and then a plastic shell, and while I know that's not really the case here, I get similar vibes.

I love the cases too, I'm just bummed that I can't use them, especially since I'd been hoping for these since Kizuna released. But I'm not exactly in a position where I can afford a a new phone, especially since mine still works perfectly well only has minor screen damage and is completely paid off. And since I've had it pretty much since the S9 released, I'd say that's a pretty good track record.

Funny, I have an S8 myself. I'm jealous of the phone cases the iPhones get but I'm appreciative of features on Android devices that you can't get on Apple's.

I also have Android and find it weird but Apple does have big marketing for one. Otherwise, they are pretty cool no matter what.
