Problem was the Japanese people that bought the GP dims complained that they where sold as exclusive. A lot of people payed lots of money there trying to get them all themself or paying 3rd parted sellers to get them becouse they where told they where exclusive. Now there is a cheaper option that is not random and has more Digimon. So to calm the upset people they are going to revise these to not be as close to the GP dims. Basically they are taking to opinion of people that payed to get the GP dims over the people that did not buy them.
This actually makes a lot of sense and clears the situation up. Thank you for the update.

Although I was one of the lucky ones, thankfully, I got all the GP dims in a 10 gatcha roll. Regardless once it was announced I still preordered this [EX2 Dim set] in a heartbeat. Simply because I love Digimon, the roster, plus it’s Tamers. That said I can understand the Japanese fans and I believe Bandai is doing the right thing.

Hopefully they aren’t going to change everything. I can see them definitely removing Medieval Dukemon and Kuzanohamon. I don’t know if Yukomon and Growlmon (Orange) lines will stay in the dim as well. I personally hope they do if this is their only chance to be in a dim. On the brightside I’m curious could we potentially get Anubismon (Guilmon dim) and Gulfmon (Renamon dim) instead?

I’m guessing maybe Dukemon X would be an easy replacement. My biggest problem with how this was handled is that they just canceled orders instead of let you keep them for what ever the revision is. I already payed a proxy site $50 to order these dims and now I’m not sure how much of that I will have to eat do to it being canceled… just to have to pay again when they post the revised ones.

Annoying since I only wanted these for Terriermon who wasn’t even part of the gp set.

Great this will be a big headache… already payed a proxy $50 to get these for me and I may have to eat the proxy fees if this gets canceled… only to have to pay them again when the revised listing goes up.
That's a big oof.

I really don’t get this, the selling point for these for me WAS that they were the Gatchas but expanded!

Which is wild because if ANYONE deserves a refund and apology it's the people who bought into the gacha set. People dropped a lot of money and didn't even get complete sets because of the randomization.

I'm not mad about this new set existing or demanding they revise it, but I am mad how many people were persuaded to buy stripped down versions and were handed Guilmon and 9 Monodramons.

I would love to start seeing some X types, but I think this would be an awkward way to introduce them. One possibility I was considering that could have led to the decision to cancel orders is a change in the number of cards, maybe even sets. Picturing Guil/Rena and Terrier/Lop where the current Terriermon card is split opening up space for his complete dark line as well as Rapidmon Gold. There's also room for everyone to have a holy beast/sovereign form this way keeping in line with the deva theme. Feel like this would satisfy most while simultaneously mitigating whatever losses Bandai might have taken having to cancel the production of the current set.

Boy, do I love making wild predictions lol.

Terriermon being bizarrely absent from the GP made it seem pretty clear that the original intent was for Lopmon and Terriermon to get a dual EX release set, especially given how popular they are. Terriermon's the the second most popular Child stage, so it could surely warrant it and Lopmon getting their own sets (with Terriermon being doggo/cyborg/wind themed and Lopmon being demon beast, rabbit, and Holy Beast themed). That's why it was surprising to see them smushed together. Hopefully this plan signals that they're reverting(?) to that.

What a weird move.

Being someone that ordered a bunch of the GP dims I hope this revision does add more variety between the two sets.

One exclusive Ultimate per GP dim would be enough to keep me satisfied.

Hopefully that Terriermon sprite gets revised as well because they butchered the lil fella.
