A bit ago, the official Digimon site put up a poll for Favorite Digimon Added to Reference Book in 2022 (Part 1).

Recently the poll closed and we have the results!




And the winner is... Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode (Black)!

Of the 37 Digimon added in 2022, for the first part of the 19 from GulusGammamon & Bemmon, who got votes as your favorite?
It was Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode (Black!)

It 1st appeared in a CG illustration in 2001 in the Digimon card game, and in 2022, a more ominous design was unveiled, winning 1st price due to its coolness.

2nd place is GulusGammamon, which made a terrifying appearance in the 1st Ghost Game episode broadcast in 2022, and continued to make an impact whenever it appeared later.

In 3rd place was Canoweissmon, who first appeared in Digimon Ghost Game episode 25, super evolving from BetelGammamon, and has played an active role in situations since then.

Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode (Black) 1st place?!! Oh damn he easily defeated GulusGammamon/Canoweissmon and Ragnamon/BEMmon with almost doubled vote counts!

I'M PLEASED WITH THIS RESULT for Plutomon and Sistermon Ciel (Shockingly higher than her sisters Noir and Blanc)

Greymon X (Blue) surprisingly got high votes despite just appeared so suddenly. Good for him!

I'm quite confused with how Thetismon got higher vote counts than... Lamortmon?! I guess not everyone fan of Lamortmon in Japan... Huh

Seems all Olympus Twelve members aren't quite popular as I thought so besides Plutomon....

I'm just going to assume Bemmon is only so low because potential votes were divided to Ragnamon.

I agree with Junomon being the lamest digimon, it's definitely my least favorite Olympus XII member.

I expect that Espimon being so low is definitely not what the Digimon team wants to see. I and many others would probably love Espimon if his characterization in Ghost Game was a lot better. To be honest I probably like Espimon more than a lot of other people because I think his abilities are super cool and I love his moments in battles in the anime but outside of battles he's got the least funny repeated joke in the world ("That's not Hiro. I need to find the real Hiro, hurr durr ")

Shoutouts to that poll where Wezen won over the other Gammamons lol. More people were interested in the old Digimon getting added over the new ones, besides Bacchusmon who hasn't been in anything and Junomon Hysteric being in a poll that also had Junomon, as it's really telling that after the two big name Anime additions (one of which is a black version of another Digimon and Digimon fans only hate recolors that aren't black), the next new addition for this year to get on the poll is... Greymon X, followed by a waifu, and then a gap followed by Lamort.

Espimon is probably the worst looking and written Child Digimon to ever be a protagonist in any Digimon media pretty much ever. As much as I prefer non Dragon Digimon a Digimon that looks like Mr Peanut with rockets in its arse and who is a complete imbecile is the nadir of the franchise’s design decisions. It’s very existence is frankly, puzzling.

I'll be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of Imperialdramon FM, but I will concede that the way they handled his recolor was pretty good. The head plate in particular helps him stand out from his good counterpart.

Anyway, I'm happy to see Ragnamon placed relatively well. I do think having Bemmon split the votes between the two, but it's nice to see that their inclusion was appreciated by the fanbase.

He's like a tagalong that won't leave you alone and his contributions to the episodes tends to be rather limited outside of those battle moments. You really could write him out of the show right now and nothing would change.

Whooooo Fighter Mode Black, my boi. Given the strong showings of GulusGammamon and Canoweissmon (who are both... fine...) I wouldn't have expected that outcome, but sweet. Ragnamon in 4th place is pretty cool too.

This votes results are so cringe everytime. Hysteric mode wich is imo one of the most inspired designs in the whole franchise having 0% votes is so sad.
We can expect more dragons and edgy versions of them in the near future i guess.

Nice to see an old digimon win. Hopefully it'll let Bandai know what the fans really want! More old digimon added to the reference book. Add the gizmon line please.

I agree about Ragnamon and BEMmon got separate votes but basically it's 13%, and it already got tied with GulusGammamon.

In other words, it's 2nd place.

I'm surprised black digimons are top places. It's kinda cool.
