Pokemon Crystal coming to virtual console in January!

I never got a chance to play this one so I’m pretty stoked and unlike Gold and Silver this one didn’t get a remake even though elements of it made its way to the DS remakes

I also assume its only a matter of time before the gen 3 games are released. Though we may be looking at a 2019 release. Late 2018 if we’re fortunate

I was out with friends when I saw the news about Crystal. Needless to say we were rather pleased that Crystal is finally on the way. I didn't finish Gold as other games came out, but did like the additions to Crystal. So will likely play through again when it arrives next month.

I'm excited about this so I'll probably be getting it yet they've not announced nothing about gen 4 which is weird as they're back to gen 2.

They haven’t got to gen 3 yet either.They’re not even back to gen 2 they’re simply releasing the last gen 2 game

I think you’re confused. This isn’t a remake of Crystal it is the Crystal game for the GBC that you can download from the Nintendo 3DS virtual console. It’s not a new version

It won't have anything new, but it will eventually have a feature that was unreleased in the West: the Celebi event

I have not turned on my 3DS for almost half year. But this will be another reason to keep my 3DS.

I was going to play Pokemon Red and then Gold in anticipation.


I really hope they release RSE all together because I dont want to get Ruby Sapphire but I will get Emerald

I am aware of what you're referring to and it's irrelevant. This isn't about a remake this about an old game from 2001 being available for download on Nintendo 3DS's virtual console.

Again you're missing the point. It's not a new game. It's the old game warts and all. It is literally the GBC game.

My little brother is gonna be so pissed that he won't be able to buy this one. The fact of the matter is, he's the one with the 2DS, and I'm the one with the international debit card. Heh heh. Still, seeing Gen 2's final game releasing on Virtual Console makes me wonder if they'll be releasing remakes of Gen 4 on the Switch. If they do that, I'm sold on finally buying a Switch. Seems pretty darn likely too, given all the mythology surrounding

^For some reason I was under the impression that the I Choose You movie with all of its heavy showcasing of gen 4 Pokemon was their hinting at upcoming gen 4 remakes. I'm sure the Sinnoh Remakes are coming

I always said, we woudln't get Gen 4 remakes because they're DS games. And then later, I said it'd be on the Switch. So maybe. We'll have to wait for Pokemon Switch to see.

After watching the I choose You movie I definitely think Sinnoh remakes are in the works. They gave the female companion one of the 3 starters and she comes from twinleaf and the male companion had Lucario, the breakout mon from gen 4 and luxray as part of his backstory

Cash grab for Nintendo, but I like Crystal so I'll get it. I spent hours upon hours playing Gold when I was little. Gen II is my childhood.

Is it weird if I still play the games every now and then even though I don't really care about Pokemon anymore? I mean, the only reason why I played the new games was about curiosity, not because I was excited for them.. The 3DS games have been way to easy.
