Plotmon Preview for Booster Set 9

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 9 X Record. This time it's Plotmon.

Getting Plotmon in the same set as Plotmon X is a nice touch, with some fun art to boot. This one has a nice painted look, and features Plotmon & BlackTailmon teaming up to nab some food.

This was most likely done with Limited/Draft play in mind. (For those who don't know, that's when you play with cards of a single set)
It would be very weird to have a whole theme of slide evolution / stacking 'mons with the same name without the means to do it in play.

It's fun that they're including the Purple version of this in a set with the X version as a different color. If they do that in the future that'd be fun, another multicolor take that isn't straight multicolor or the Armor method.

I don't think it has to do with anything more than working as Meicoo line rookie, since they like to print lines in the sets. I'm not expecting most of the other digis on this set to have non-X counterpart released alongside them.

That wouldn't be necessary. It would only need enough representation in lower rarities to be a viable to play. But looking at the cards already revealed and the remaining slots, I'm probably reaching here. It's more likely that it is just a gimmick for the yellow/purple matters of the Meicoomon line.
