Plotmon & Mikemon Previews for Booster Set 13

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Booster Set 13 VS Royal Knights. This time it's Plotmon & Mikemon.

Relaxation appears to be the goal with the art here. Plotmon we get a few Plotmons just relaxing around, while Mikemon is just laying in a field and resting.

Well now I'm curious which Royal Knight this is supposed to be for unless there's a Data Squad character I'm missing. My best guess is Leopardmon.

Im sure its Leopardmon, in her previous (and only) appearance in the tcg she came with Bastemon, and im sure this Plotmon and Mikemon are leading to Baste > Leopard again, and im a big fan of it, not only because it makes sense with Leopardmon design being based on a female character but also because that makes the whole trio of kitties becoming members of different relevant groups (3Angels/7DL/RK).

I'm a big fan of the idea of Bastemon in a future video game having a Great Angel, a Demon Lord, and a Royal Knight as an evolution fork

Pretty sure he meant BlackGatomon/LadyDevimon/Lilithmon, Gatomon/Angewomon/Magnadramon, Mikemon/Bastemon/Leaopardmon. So Salamon is the one branching into all 3

My only issue w/ Baste is that it throws the attribute triangle off, so I'm hoping we get Mihiramon instead.

I wouldnt say its weird at all, Humanoids with feline traits like tail and ears, long hair, even the colors are not that different and both were inspired by female characters. Yes, Bastemon is maybe too feminine, but i think that Leopardmon have a pair of official arts were you can see her in a more feminine way (cyber sleuth leopardmon art and BT3-030).

It's Duftmon likely. Mihiramon or Bastemon I'm okay with either one of them.

I'm team Bearmon for Duftmon but I welcome branches.

The effect is not so much specifically implying the Sovereigns. The effect only specifies the kanji [獣] ("Beast") and the trait [Royal Knights]. The Japanese name of 'Sovereign' ("Holy Beast") has this kanji, so they're included in the effect too. It's because of inconsistencies of the dub names that they have to specify these different traits, instead of a single word like in Japanese.

YongYoKyo described it super well. It's also why we have to awkwardly say it doesn't affect [Sea Animal]s. In English, some instances of "beast" got changed to "animal" without "animal" being a word used on Japanese traits so it would have been fine just saying "[Animals], [Beasts], and [Sovereign]" but English also changed what would translate as "aquatic mammal" to "[Sea Animal]" so now we have to add the disclaimer so it functions like its Japanese counterpart.

So yeah, what originally was just mentioning 1 type got turned into mentioning 4 lmao

it actually targets a super broad range of types, the English localization is responsible for making it seem complicated and specific
