I love re-fly, and the lyrics especially. It'd be nice if re-fly did end up used in Tri though. If anything, it could be the ED but it would feel like such a waste (or at least make the ED more exciting!) I'm really excited to hear the full version though on the 25th. It'd be nice if it was going to be available on iTunes Japan, actually.

(edit Actually, whose to say we can't rule out Butter-Fly as the OP for the first episode and re-fly for the rest? Or a 2nd OP?)

But wouldn't it be strange for an ED/OP to released first as just another song in Kouji Wada's solo album, instead of it being promoted as an actual Digimon Adventure tri. song? Music is pretty important to the franchise, so I think it would be illogical for TOEI not to sell Re-Fly as an official Digimon single, if that was the case. Considering how they made such a big deal out of the new versions of Butter-Fly and brave heart, it would be puzzling if they suddenly announced a previously released Wada song as tri's EP.
Re-Fly being a second OP would make even less sense. Even assuming a second OP will happen, it should take months and months to debut. I can't imagine them using an "old" song for it.

I have a theory. It might seem farfetched at first, but it relates the last of the nade-nade to the release of Koji Wada's new album. I'm guessing the reason they still haven't released Pabumon's Digitama is because they want its release to coincide with that of re-fly. The nade-nade for that will be insanely small, and in less than half a day, the new info will be released. re-fly can then be marketed as a Digimon album, and also as Koji Wada's comeback after his battle with cancer. I also have another theory, this one even more farfetched. Perhaps we'll get a PV of tri from the nade-nade of Pabumon's egg, with the BG music as re-fly. It might even be the OP theme. I'm pretty optimistic. Too bad I won't be able to listen to the full version though. My Dad won't be back before late April, and I'll bug him to the death to buy the album, and it will only be in late April that I'll be able to go home, and get my hands on that blessed CD, and perhaps even a D-Scanner (a D-Tector for those who watched the dub), depending on whether he buys the latter or not. Man, I can't wait for these exams to start and end!! ;)

Nice song. Can’t wait for the full version (which I assume this is not) and translated lyrics. BTnDW has a screenshot of the lyrics for the extant verse, which conspicuously include chikara in katakana and new world in English. It’s like this is one of those big reference-heavy crossover songs like ‘Legend: ×ros Wars’, but put through a ‘Butterfly’ filter.

And people wonder why I get mean :p

Should have levelled up like me.

Ah, I see. Thought that tower was Tokyo Tower.

Nah bro, Tokyo Tower looks like an orange Eiffel Tower. If you mean the Skytree, that has a kind of flared collar, not a bulbous crown.

Hirari and Kaze are new versions of the song.

Cluuuuutch! Those are two of my favourites.

It'd be nice if re-fly did end up used in Tri though.

Could be a one-off insert or ending for the ([ante]pen)ultimate episode. Those are fairly common.

Unfortunately for me, I can't read kanji :(
Anyhow, the album releases tomorrow, so hopefully we'll be able to get translated lyrics, or at least lyrics in text form that can be converted into English translation and romaji using Google Translate. I can't tell you guys how excited I am!!! :D :D

EDIT: So, after I ran the individual lines of the lyrics transcript from Bokutachi no Digital World in ABBYY Screenshot Reader, and translated the text using Babylon, here's what I got:
Open this wing to watch the continuance of the dreamI step on that wind once again to the skyYour the voice that I heard without ceaseI turn it on, and the light of the dream is phlegmI felt it to be long endlessly at that timeThe times in the point of stairs are nowIt begins from hereAnything runs around the few skyIt seems that scenery to watch is differentIs over time, and know love; to newworldThere is the future of the point that flew over a trash box in this hand nowThe power of the loveEven if I am hurt how many times how many timesOK, it is line くよ [re-flyj

I couldn't gather much from the above words, except that Koji Wada is talking about a voice calling out to him once more, and he will fly once again, in a sky where he can't see much. He'll open his metaphorical 'wings' to realise his never-ending dream (phlegm? It might be a mistranslation caused by 'dan' being spelled as 'tan', meaning instead of time passing slowly, we get phlegm in our system *rolls eyes*). Flying over an empty future, rising above a pail of trash (referring to the Chosen Children's trials and tribulations, Wada's own battle with cancer, and possibly rising above hate), he will make a new world. He also talks about the power of love, possibly a reference to Butter-fly. From what I can gather, he is reiterating his statement that no matter how many times he falls down, he will still 're-fly', on 'love'. That's it for my interpretation.

I don't mind translating! I had taken a crack at it via what I could hear from the MV version and I did make mistakes. I've listened to a clearer HQ version and the new version is seriously improved over what I could hear at some parts. I'll post my translation of the first half when I'm done--I'm assuming the lyrics are accurate to what's in the CD booklet too

The trash line sounds so awkward to me in English though, but yeah it's a metaphor for all the obstacles the kids (and him) faced. That's what I take from reading the kanji. It's a very lovely song, I really love it :D

Have heard the full version of re-fly. If this does not end up in Adventure tri at some point, I will be disappointed. I know it's been ruled out as an OP...but what about an ED? It's about time we got Ed's again in Digimon. I really did enjoy the song a lot.
