A few card updates!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega. This time we get MoriShellmon.

MoriShellmon shows off the Shellmon variant with probably the nicest art he's ever gotten. The body is also done in a more brownish color, when MoriShellmon is often shown as a more green, or mix of green and brown for the main body. It has a nice look to it for a Digimon who doesn't generally get unique art.

Digimon Card Game Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega is scheduled to release on February 26th.

Previous card previews for Booster Set 5:

We have clean card images for Booster Set 4 Great Legend.

We also have begun to get details about Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega, including our first look at art via DigiNavi!

And images from previous Digimon Card Game releases:
Starter Decks 1, 2, and 3, and first 10 promo cards
Booster Set 1 New Evolution
Booster Set 2 Ultimate Power
V-Tamer Promo Cards
Purple/Black Promo Set
Tamer Battle Pack 1 and Tamer Battle Winner's Card
Booster Set 3 Union Impact
Starter Decks 4, 5, & 6, plus Tamer Battle Pack 2 & winner's Card 2, & 1st 2 scene vote cards

And for those looking forward to English cards...

Special Booster 1.5 previews continue for the US version of the card game!

Won't go over them in detail, since it's the same cards that came out awhile ago in Japan. We get new previews of Scrap Claw, Grace Cross Freezer, Holy Wave, Cherry Blast, Mastemon (alternate art version), & Beast Cyclone.

US Boosters 1.0 and 1.5 will contain all the cards from Japanese boosters 1, 2, and 3, featuring their original numbering.

Special Booster 1.5 will be out in February.

Previous Special Booster 1.5 Previews:

The pre-sale for the first wave of English Digimon Card Game releases is out. It includes the first 3 starter decks and special booster 1.0 (a larger than normal booster set containing a selection of cards from the 1st 3 Japanese boosters. When paired with the upcoming special 1.5, it contains all the cards as those boosters in Japan.)

All the day 1 cards (the 3 starter decks, special booster 1.0, and a bunch of promo cards) we have clean images for, which can be found here.
Various rules and other updates for the early release of the Digimon Card Game English version can be found here.
We also have info about the release of Starter Decks 4, 5, and 6 and Booster Set 4 in English here.

I forgot MoriShellmon exists. It's a shame that the only change from Shellmon is its habitat and not anything about its attributes, concept, or fighting style.
It has great stats, though

Talk about one of the most niche choices possible. It's only been seen three times since the PS1 (Dawn/Dusk, Collectors, and a HM medal) and only has one trading card before this one. Dang. It wasn't even in Heroes and that game had over 1000 Digimon in it.

Regular Shellmon doesn't even have a card yet! Unless it gets one in this set I guess. Anyway it's in Misty Trees so another World 1 reference <3

As for the dub cards, I see they're using Grace Cross Freezer. It's basically a guessing game when it comes to MetalGarurumon, his attacks have had so many name changes it's ridiculous and half the time they end up swapping the names round. Not sure why him in particular has this problem lmao. I know the dub likes to make up new dub names for old attacks all the time but MetalGarurumon's situation is basically unique in that they mostly keep the same names but swap them round. Ice Wolf Claw being like 4 different things etc.

Cool, Mori Shellmon. I totally forgot about that Digimon, but I remembered it more greenish.

Basically it is an Okuwamon from the Starter Deck, but a Lv.4 istead, and the Green version of Blimpmon.

While Pile Shell and Drill Shell are very similar, the rest of their attacks tend towards rather different lines, and Morishellmon is in Nature Spirits while Shellmon is in Deep Savers.

It would probably be Jungle Troopers if they still cared about Fields.

Oh hey, it's regional variant Shellmon. I totally forgot he exists.

If nothing else, I enjoy the TCG for spotlighting very rare and niche Digimon. Even if it's not the most exciting of cards like this one.

It's amusing how the card game has been consistently using obscure Digimon and still managing to have a flood of Agumons and Gabumons. Heck, even their obscure variations are getting in - BushiAgumon, anyone? Poor YukiAgumon is jealous...

I really love all the backgrounds
The artists really know when drawing them xD

Hope to see those digimon that only have sprites get art too!

Ah MoriShellmon. Another good DW1 reference. But I wonder if Sangomon gets recolor one for that? What should he gets named for?

@Sparrow Hawk I don't see the need of a recolor, but this makes me think of a plant/moss variant, which in turn reminds me of the Castlevania games and the Une enemy, so my vote is Unemon.

I always liked the recolors from Digimon World 1. It was there for a purpose and it was interesting to see the same digimon in different environment/region. It's a part of nostalgia now.

Moss on Sangomon. Hmm I can imagine that.

Part of nostalgia... Huh yeah I think all recolor ones below 2010 probably will be doomed not to have their new evo lines while the true ones gets evos which is pretty sad to see.

Hmmm. Since this set is partially Xros Wars themed, I think its evo may be Zamielmon.

They do still care about Fields, they just don't care about Jungle Troopers. (And never have, really...)

It is Nature Spirits as opposed to Deep Savers though.

That's actually not a bad guess, come to think of it.
