We got plenty of previews for Starter Deck 15 The War Dragon of Courage and Starter Deck 16 The Steel Wolf of Friendship earlier from the Card Game stream.

We have a number more from more screenshots of the match that took place. This also means there are very few cards from the new Starter Decks that we haven't seen so far.

Meramon giving back a memory when digivolving is a weird yet interesting effect

Baldy Blow looking a little too good. 4 cost to get rid of any monster not a lvl 6. Woah. As i mainly play purple i ain't complaining.

I see purple meramon keeps up his streak of being a low cost lv4. This specific meramon could be good with the new training cards revealed not too long ago. You would basically get +1 memory for digivolving.

I really wish Digimon TCG would a collaboration with other series.

There is no way that this is not an example of strange early translations sticking around. No shot this wasn't intended to be "Body Blow".

It's a fan translation in the first place, the localisation of this attack in the PS1 game used Blow Hard which the English card game may or may not use.

It's the wrong pronunciation for that. There's definitely an R/L sound in the katakana.

I defer to anyone with any semblance of Japanese ability, but that leaves me with the question: What in the blue hell is a Baldy Blow?

dang you guys keeping me quote chained made me come back to a lot of notifications. Just quote the part you're replying to.

Anyways, I normally try to use dub names and did see when making the post that the dub name was "Blow Hard" but that's extremely silly while also sounding like a sexual insult so I really do not think the English localization will use that name. Instead I used the next best thing I found which is Wikimon's translation. Wikimon's been translating Digimon for a long time and WereGarurumon is a highly viewed page so that translation had priority to me over something that sounds better like "Body Blow" or "Bloody Blow"

Not gonna lie, odd choice to have the one Digimon we don't know yet be a loose rookie in the Agumon deck. Gabumon deck is fully known, for Agumon we can pretty much predict all but that one rookie.

I guess I'd say it's gonna be Kokuwamon as it's the missing Metal Empire rookie (with Hagurumon being replaced by it's vaccine re-colour).

Granted they might surprise us since the Gabumon deck ditched Candlemon & DemiDevimon (probably because they were already included in ST-6 & ST-14) for Elecmon (the other Tsunomon evolution) and Gotsumon (no clue why him, only explanation I see is he has the humanoid body type like Meramon, but otherwise he seems to have only had 1 random Nightmare Soldiers tie-in in the old card game, where he could just evolve into a bunch of dinosaurs).

Gotsumon was presumably included because of his Adventure appearance with Pumpmon.

Ah, you're probably right! Makes sense, they even added it to the Matt deck.

After poking around the Japanese internet the only thing I can figure is that Baldy Blow might be a reference to British skinheads and their proclivity for using brass knuckles. That or it’s an obscure reference to one of a dozen gangsters that used the alias “baldy”.

Yeah, it seems to be pretty below cost for a card that can get rid of level 5 and lower when most 4 cost removal only gets rid of level 4s. Purple has some cheaper removal that can get rid of anything, but it requires you to sacrifice your own digimon to do so.

Inherited reboot is always eye-catching. Maybe not in the super-fast meta, but at the lower tables, toyagu is a star, and this clearagu will be as well.

That is actually kind of cool, if that is the case.

Yeah it should be at the very least 5 cost. Like you said stuff like pandemonium flame can get rid of bigger stuff but it at least cost you a body. Baldy blow is just straight up lvl based destruction. Time to start hiding in raising again lol.
