Michael Reynolds has Passed, English Voice of (Old) Gennai

We've found out that Michael Reynolds has passed.

To Digimon fans, Reynolds would be known as the original English voice of Gennai, playing him when he appeared as an old man in Adventure, the movie, and a bit in 02, often there to provide the Digidestined with some knowledge, and the audience with some humor.
He also wrote a few episodes in Season 1 (Adventure).

He had a massive list of credits, but a few more notable ones would be any number of monsters in Power Rangers, perhaps most noticeable Captain Mutiny in Lost Galaxy, along with Guiseppe Maiyart in the US dub of Wicked City.

RIP, he was a good voice actor. I always wondered if some of the later "soundalikes" were actually him, but sounds like he was oft imitated, never duplicated, as it goes. He'll be missed.

I've been wondering for years if Michael Reynolds was still alive. I mean, he was a pretty old fella even back when the Digimon dub first started. Guess now I know for sure. RIP to another fantastic voice actor.

Though most here will no doubt associate him with Gennai. My first and fondest memory of Mr Reynolds was when he voiced Widimer on Dogtanion and the Muskehounds.

My first experience hearing Michael Reynolds' voice was as Dolza in Robotech the Macross Saga. I always enjoyed his performance of Gennai and he was always a memorable character in OG Adventure. RIP and my heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

He was 92, so that means he was 69 when he began recording for the dub. That’s incredible and I love his dedication to the anime and voice acting world in general. May he Rest In Peace.
