MetalGreymon Preview for Booster Set 8

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 8 New Hero. This time it's MetalGreymon.

MetalGreymon gets some quite snazzy art of him busting through a few different things. A lot of building materials, but there looks to be a few things that might be mechanical Digimon parts... or more buildings.

Appearently there will be a new Black Wargreymon in the set. Makes me wonder if they will finally introduce a Black or dual colored BlackAgumon. Currently we only have a red one and until this dual colored MetalGreymon there was no way of it becoming BWGreymon.

Unless you count Megadramon or vaccine MetalGreymon from EX-01 atleast.

Ok, now we are talking. What is a set without a Greymon/Agumon variant? (sigh)
I see, more support for the Machinedramon deck. 4 to evolve is a lot for a perfect level, but its abilities are powerful enough to justify the cost, and its DP are quite high too.

I don't think we'll get a Black Agumon. This could be a reference to the evolution of regular Greymon forced by the Digimon Kaiser. Black War Greymon could easily be in the set, though. I still hope this doesn't mean we'll get the full line.

Re-read what I said, this is only the second time we've had the entire line from BlackAgumon to BlackWarGreymon in a Booster Set. MetalGreymon (Virus) getting sporadic standalone appearances in BT-01 and a Starter Deck does not count.

First time, technically. First BlackAgumon was supposed to become BlitzGreymon. Not sure, maybe there was a BWGreymon in the set, but it was not intended and couldn't evolve from BlackAgumon.

BlitzGreymon is Virus, so I'd say it counts.

Yes, it definitely counts. The BT-3 BlitzGreymon & CresGarurumon were intended to reference the 20th anniversary Vpets, but I guess they didn't want to re-use the same rookies and champions:

Agumon (replaced with BlackAgumon) -> Greymon (replaced with virus Greymon) -> MetalGreymon (Virus) -> BlitzGreymon
Gabumon (replaced with Psychemon) -> Garurumon (replaced with Gururumon) -> MetalMamemon -> CresGarurumon

Additionally, effects of those evolution lines were made to align into building an Omegamon Alter-S deck.

So Agumon's whole evo line left almost everyone traumatized with Pikachu syndrome or what?

I kinda got used to this dual color pretty fast. Gotta admit this dual color actually is fun. Just besides eyeful artworks.
