It looks like it's time for the ongoing card previews for Booster Set EX-05 to start! And we start off with a big batch!

The Digimon Card Game Twitter (2) (3) (4) has updated with card previews from Booster Set EX-05 Animal Colosseum. This time it's MetalGarurumon X, Coronamon, Lunamon, Kon & Sayo, Sayo & Koh, & Aquilamon.

MetalGarurumon X features the actiony key art we've seen for the set. Very high level of detail. Coronamon & Lunamon both feature some very fun anime plus style art, that almost feels like it'd fit in the game boxes. Then the tamer cards feature both versions of Koh and Sayo, as they appear in Sunlight/Dawn & Moonlight/Dusk, with some very nice anime styled art.

Aquilamon got a slightly different preview, showing off indomitable, the new card game skill that allows a Digimon to return after it's been beaten.

The Digimon Card Game Twitter (2) also further teased details we got early, such as all 4 Holy Beasts getting Ace cards, and Huanglongmon appearing.

Aha so indomitable only works if the monster in question has digivolution sources eh that's not too bad. Better new keyword than barrier for sure. Looks like lunamon/coronamon is gonna be one of those many sources, stair step DNA decks which usually don't turn out to well but we'll see. At least this means GraceNovamon is gonna be a thing.

Wasn't expecting the alt designs of Koh and Sayo, that's a cool bonus though I would've had it kas two Kohs and two Sayos on each card. Also would've been nice to just have cards on their own like other cards but oh well. Interesting that Light Fang and Night Claw (will Engilsh make that Night Crow again?)

Coronamon/Lunamon evolve from lv2 with Night Claw or Light Fang surely means Sunmon and Moonmon (plz, they need their DRB profiles) since what else would that refer to? baby forms of Ophanimon, ChaosGallantmon, and Anubismon? the issue for Sun and Moon is that Coronamon and Lunamon can evolve on top of Blue/Red already so unless their babies aren't blue/red there'd be no reason to specify this clause so it doesn't seem like this effect is for Sun/Moon? it's gonna be *really* annoying if some random ass babies are here for them when they have their own exclusive baby forms. If they're not in here it'll sour this entire set for me.

The effects are interesting, since they let you manually de-digivolve just like you do in the Story games so I guess we'll see just how interesting this mechanic will be of dedigivlving your own Digimon.

Light Fang and Night Crow as archetypes? So we're going to see Chiefs Glare and Julia later on then? If that's the case, that implies further support for Light Fang in Yellow (Ofanimon) and Night Crow in Purple (Chaosdukemon).

shared red and blue digivolution requirements on both Lunamon and Coronamon are interesting. Blue is the beast color in this game so for Coronamon it makes sense but Lunamon digivolving from red is odd from a lore stance. I guess they are twins so it's not too weird

It's probably just so that both can evolve from Sunmon and Moonmon to make the deck easier to play...provided theyre in the set of course. They could easily be annoying and use random babies instead. But ye I think that's why they can both evolve from each other's colours

Interesting, if I were to guess the Digimon for each team:

Light Fang: Ophanimon (with Glare), Anubismon, Seraphimon, and Apollomon.

Night Crow: ChaosGallantmon (with Julia), Zanbamon, Lotusmon, and Dianamon.

Those Digimon are all used by Koh and Sayo in their Super Xros Wars fights and are either notable members of their respective guilds or the secondary Digimon of the protagonists. The Burst Modes are also possible, but since the deck is already getting stacked and there's the possibility of Grimmon, Chronomon, and Kowloon Co. to consider, I feel they'll be sidelined.

Wow I'm really surprised at Sayo and Koh actually have different versions of themselves as Sun Sayo and Moon Koh... Wow so that is what they look like. Honestly I prefer normal Sayo.

Those designs aren't anything new, theyre in Dawn/Dusk themselves. Only weird part is Sayo blushing in both these arts for some reason, that's not part of her other arts we have of her.

Seeing Koh and Sayo arts from another 'reality' is good. I wonder if these version of them will get more appearances in the future.

I still believe we will see Akira from World 2 and Atsushi from World 3 one day at least in cards. Or even better, in future games.

Hopefully Koh and Sayo get their parallel cards in the game background.

Don't mean to ruin the fun, but we will unlikely get GraceNovamon here. The mon is not in the game. And this EX5 is based on the game (and the Pendulum Progress Animal Colosseum).
I guess the right time to bring GraceNovamon is in a booster with full of Olympus XII.

Neat to finally see these two in the card game, been a long time coming. Was never expecting to see the alternate versions of Koh and Sayo from the opposite team, but hey, it's a nice surprise.

I was also curious as to what colors they'd end up in since I felt Yellow/Purple better suited Dawn/Dusks' Light & Dark Dynamic overall, but there's also a distinct Fire & Water theme in the Coronamon & Lunamon lines so Red/Blue was always a possibility. Who knows, perhaps we'll get Yellow/Purple versions of them down the line that are compatible with these due to their Team Digivolution text if they wanna do more then it just being there for Glare & Julia.

Reminds me of EX4-048 Gaioumon that teases Gaioumon Itto Mode and here we are, waiting for the card to be released alongside other ReArise debut digimon except the protagonists.

oh cool, we officially have more MetalGarurumon X in the card game than WarGreymon X and I'm here for that.

Green Aquilamon might imply the addition of a green Garudamon X, as that was the implied intended ultimate for Aquilamon on the Animal Colosseum Pendulum Progress. Could be red & green to cover for the X-Antibodyfication of Garudamon who was previously red exclusively, but I'm just speculating.

I could see the Chronomon line being included as they are animals, but not Grimmon.

Despite mentioning it earlier, Chronomon I could see being held off until either a set focused on the first Story game or Lost Evolution. In the original Story game it's the main goal of the antagonist to wake it up while in Lost Evolution it gets a full line, Dawn/Dusk has it more of a footnote in the Story and gameplay-wise it just gets a Baby form which isn't as notable of an appearance by comparison. It's possible that they'll keep it in their pocket for any potential sets that focus on those games as a possible selling point and instead keep the focus on more notable Dawn/Dusk Digimon here, though for now my expectations is mostly on major Light Fang/Night Crow Digimon to boost up support.
