MetalEtemon, BanchoLeomon, & HeavyLeomon Parallel Previews for Booster Set EX-05

The Digimon Card Game Twitter (2) (3) has updated with card previews from Booster Set EX-05 Animal Colosseum. This time it's MetalEtemon, BanchoLeomon, & HeavyLeomonn.

This time we get to see parallel cards. And a whole set of truly amazing ones!

MetalEtemon gets some of the most dynamic and fantastic art of him we've ever seen. It's using one of it's ultra punch attacks, either Mega Punch or No. 1 Punch against PileVolcamon in the ring. This card also serves as a thematic sequel to two other cards by different artists. BT3-074 featured MetalEtemon posing in the ring, while BT6-066 featured PileVolcamon leaping at MetalEtemon in the ring.

BanchoLeomon features him posing with his sword as the sung goes down, bringing to mind any number of legendary swordfights or stories in fiction. Some fantastic posework and lighting on this one.

HeavyLeomon has a truly amazing mech style image that brings to mind many of the great mechs as they are often rendered on high end product boxes. GaoGaiGar especially comes to mind, but it feels like an amazing piece of mecha art.

Yes HeavyLeomon got art that does service to his entire design. MetalEtemon continuing the story that started in BT3 that's pretty funny even if i think this is not as good as it's original art this set.

But...BanchoLeomon getting something done by Morishita is just not fair. Look at that art it's honestly perfect. Alt Art artist for Leviamon, Apollomon, Dianamon, Leopardmon X, Anubismon, and i think FangLongmon got their work cut out for them to be just as good as that let alone top it.

Heavyleomon does reminds me of GaoGaiGar mix with that art, I remember there was a Gunpla Gundam Tyron 3 from GBF Try that also res emblems Heavyleomon.

This is what I imagined what it be like if Etemon and Volcamon in Adventure: digivolves in there mega. A reference to Ultimate Muscle anime.

And Bancho Leomon looks like he just slayed a demon in Demon Slayer, the sun rising background reminds me of the final episode in Swordsmith Village arc.

BanchoLeomon parallel art is too epic! HeavyLeomon's forehead is a bit weird and kinda ruined it IMO but still such powerful smashing artwork!

Hahaha MetalEtemon vs PileVolcamon continues that story. So in the end, who won...?

Well I wanted a cool Parallel Art for HeavyLeomon, and I got a cool Parallel Art for HeavyLeomon. Certainly addresses the main sticking point I had with the standard art not being quite dynamic enough at any rate.

Really though, all three of these are fantastic in their own right. Great level of detail and captures the personalities of the subjects well, just a solid showing.

They really didn't have to go this hard for MetalEtemon.

I'd still argue the original EX-05 artwork is the best, but this one is a close second of all we got so far and it isn't even close.

BanchoLeomon looks amazing, it looks like something straight out of a scene before a sword fight.

Honestly, all three of them look great, there's not a weak link among these batch.

BanchoLeomon's background art is greatly praised just because a lonely samurai roaming around the entire grass land on last standing is too awesome! Usually you see a lot of arts involves with samurai or ninja but it's pretty rare to see a banchou to put there.
