After a couple of brand new movies last time with Dragon Quest: Your Story and Ni no Kuni, jumping back to another classic leadup we did back when we were heading towards tri...

Soul Eater!

Some violence, some blood, mild ecchi. Not really to much content wise to worry about here.

The series can be watched on the following officially:
Subbed and dubbed on Funimation
Subbed and dubbed on Hulu
Subbed and dubbed on Netflix
Subbed on Youtube

Most of this is simply reused from the original tri. leadup for Soul Eater.

We'll do 14 episodes this time.

Soul Eater will likely appeal to Digimon fans highly. Great story, fantastic characters, the mood can swap between fun and depressing, you have characters who turn into weapons, and it's a mix of action, drama, and comedy that skews kind of close to Digimon itself.

Rather than explaining the show itself in detail I'll paste a review I did of the first 13 episodes on DVD a decade ago (although I'd say go into the show blind, it'll add to the fun).

Fantastic show, I think people will enjoy it. Very enjoyable dub also, worth a listen if you like a good English dub.

The show has quite a few Digimon connections (even more since the last time we did it), but I'm only listing one, the most important connection possible.

Takehito Koyasu was Biomon in Appmon! In Soul Eater he's the mighty Excalibur.

I've embedded the first intro for the series as a preview:

Feel free to post as you wish in this thread. You can post as you are watching, episode by episode, when you finish. Whatever you want. Try and give it a couple days for later spoilers so people have time to try and view stuff without spoilers, while still interacting in the thread (especially if you decide to keep watching past the episode listed as the last one for the leadup.) If you watch one episode and it isn't for you, pop in to explain why. Have fun with it!

A new show/movie will go up each Sunday night (or early on Monday), but feel free to keep talking about older shows in their threads, or even watching past the listed episode.

If you want to chat in the Discord you can.

Hopefully you enjoy. Feel free to make any suggestions or ask an questions regarding the threads or the shows also.

Pretty fun. Worth noting it's one of those animes that ran alongside its source manga, overtook it, and proceeded to make its own story from there. Still enjoyable as far as I recall, but the final fight is a bit of a let-down, which is a good point to be like "well I heard the manga was different", to its credit.
