Lampmon Preview for Booster Set 12

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 12 Across Time. This time it's Lampmon.

Lampmon gets his first card for the new card game (and he only had one prior from other card games I believe), with a card giving some decent evil genie vibes.

hold crud, it's the non-xros digimon that I constantly forget exists due to how insanely rare it is for the franchise to use it. I'm really glad to see him honestly, because it shows this card game can still utterly surprise me with its deep cuts.

For Lampmon's [Your Turn] effect below, I'm pretty sure it activates regardless if your opponent's Digimon is under <Security attack +> or <Security Attack -> effects

Funnily enough, Lampmon happened to be the feature article on Wikimon recently. Personally, I never found the D-3 bosses too forgetable..... I mean, all of them except BlackWarGreymon and maybe Deathmon have been horribly under-utilized (especially given how lacking the 02 anime was in antagonistic Ultimates), but I never got the impression that they were too obscure. Still, only one card in Hyper Colosseum (the standard profile artwork one, at that)? Ouch.

Is nice to see Lampmon showing up. I never know how to feel about it's design, is definitely non-standard. But I think koki did a good job with it here.

it's a mixture of the franchise having super rare usage of it and Lampmon admittedly looking very generic for a cartoon genie. It's one of the very rare times a mega level Digimon looks underdesigned. Like only one small line tattoo? Only one little sword?? It's a really solid cartoon genie but if I saw this design outside of context I could mistake it as coming from nearly any franchise as it's "just a cartoon genie" to me.
I also don't know how many people both had a D-3 and remembered the pixels of the bosses in them

I never had a D-3 myself, but I did constantly check out the official site. It and Megchan's were my best Digimon resources before wikis were a thing.

This may be going beyond the scope, but the fact that it's so underdesigned rocks. Depending on the context, digimon take their form based on available data or have existed since time immemorial, and I think this guy looking like both an AI's abstraction of a generic genie or maybe the platonic ideal of genies is kind of sick in that context.

And he's from an art contest submission? This dude kicks so much ass.
