Knightmon Preview for Booster Set 5

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega. This time we get Knightmon.

Knightmon features a very dynamic battle shot of Knightmon in the midst of a leaping strike, with his opponent being DarkKnightmon.


Digimon Card Game Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega is scheduled to release on February 26th.

So he's basically considered a counter part to AxeKnightmon, which they do seem to want to push after creating DarkMaildramon for him since Knightmon has regular Maildramon. I'd have Gladimon as the SkullKngihtmon counterpart.

Good ol' Knightmon. That Play Effect is a little "eh~" but he's cool enough that I don't care.

If DarkKnightmon doesn't appear in this Set now I will consider that a peak tease.

Beautiful art with that perfect medieval backround. -4000 is not a lot for an [on play] effect on a Lv.5, but considering that you are supposed to play it in combo with Lord Knightmon maybe it would have been too OP otherwise.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot that LordKnightmon was reveal in this Set as well. That explains a lot.

It does make me wonder how feasible a LordKnightmon strategy is since looking up all the Digimon that have the "Warrior" trait, most of them are already in other Colours and of those left to appear in the TCG, only Gladimon and LovelyAngemon strike me as ones that would become Yellow.

I mean usually threads about 1 card reveal don't get 9 replies until later on in the day unless it's something big. A lot of you must really like the Knightmons
I personally have always liked Knightmon a lot, there’s not really anything about him to not like. I especially like the Crest of Hope on his shield, it makes me wonder how far back in Digimon history the crests go (in lore, not in real world conception)

Knightmon is cool, and as to be expected, it's a great target for LordKnightmon's effect. Getting a Lv5 onto the field for free alongside a moderate DP cut is neat, especially since you can then use Knightmon to go into another Lv6. Neat to see DarkKnightmon appearing in the artwork as well, really hope he also makes it into the set since it just makes sense on so many angles.

I've always wondered why there's a Crest of Hope on his shield. What kind of connection do they have?

There’s no direct connection, but I kind of see it as a secular, Digimon-flavored version of crusaders having the cross on their shields. Also family crests and the like. Or, more generally, Knightmon fights to give people hope, or something like that.

The crusader inspiration is actually quite fitting, now that you bring it up. Most European knights (presumably what he's based on) back in medieval times would've been Christian so it makes total sense.
