Headcanons vs theories

Is there a real difference between a headcanon and a regular theory? I would say that say that headcanons are more light-hearted. For example, I like to headcanon that Anya Folger's hair cones are intended to contain her psychic power but they are probably just a fashion accessory.

I suppose headcanons are things you have fun imagining without necessarily believing them to be true whereas theories are things you believe might be true (which may or may not be things you want to see) but aren't confirmed yet

Theories are things that could be true and sometimes are. Headcanons are things that usually isn't true. Shipping is often times headcanons. Which fits the wars people have had with them... But yeah, Theories could be real, headcanons usually aren't.

Yeah, Theories are working between two points we know as fact and finding a connection. Headcanon is taking on point and connecting it to a new point you just made. Sometimes they overlap.
