The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with a card preview from Booster Set EX-03 Dragon's Roar. This time it's Guilmon.

Guilmon is art we've seen on the pack art, plus a small version on the promo poster, but this is the first time we've seen it larger, and it features some nice art of Guilmon sitting around and having a snack.

If it's red/purple why is it not able to evolve from red thats weird is that meant to balance it or something. It's not like its effect is that op

It's able to evolve from Gigimon for 0 cost, ignoring the Gigimon's color. We have red and purple Gigimons, so it can evolve from either.

Digimon in urban environments continues to be my favorite visuals.
Is there a lore connection between Guilmon and canned fishy foods? Or is he just a big kitty cat?

Guilmon
Rookie | Virus | Reptile
Digivolve: 0 from [Gigimon]
[When Deleted] Delete 1 of your opponent's Digimon with 3000 DP or less. If no Digimon was deleted by this effect, trash the top 2 cards of both players' decks.

What a weird little guy. Might have to wait to see what the level 2s in this set look like to get the full scope of why this card is a little more restrictive than we might expect. Truthfully, this seems good early and midgame, retrievable off of Nise Agumon Hakase, functions as trash set-up; generally has a lot of synergies already without also being a reliable turn 1 raise.

My other perspective is that they seem reticent to print cheap or efficient mill cards (with those effects stapled onto level 6s that haven't really seen play) and level 3 dual-colors that splash too easily. Could account for how restrictive it looks.
