Nice, love the art. Simple vanilla card with more power but higher evolution cost to the early card game 12.000 beaters.

hm, Griffomon was possibly added as a tie-in for both Lamortmon and Darcmon (Hippogriffomon) in this set.

Made me wonder if we can make any more predictions based on the Ghost Game dims, but there's no room in red and blue. Would be cool to get AncientMermaimon, but they're clearly waiting on a chance to cram in Lanamon and Calmaramon as pre-evolutions.

It will cute if the eyes in the mouth and the tail have different personality like 3 soul in 1 body

This artwork shows how chimerical Griffomon is. Those red eyes, they look like they have their own face.

the first time I ever saw Gryphonmon my thought was how it doesn't look like a Mega level in strength.
It still doesn't seem like it'd be a Mega level in strength.
It is really cool how the entirety of its head very obviously was a huge inspiration for everything about WarGreymon's head

Griffomon looks halfway evolved between Perfect and Ultimate. I hate that they retconned it into having a single horn instead of two.

I always thought those things were joints/hinges.

Anyway, I always liked how Gryphomon was a less-busy/detailled Ultimate compared to others. Variation is the spice of life, as they say.

Someone clearly hasn't played DMO where Griffomon were for a long time one of the hardest enemies in the game with more health and endurance than even raid bosses and requiring high level Burst Modes to defeat (or rather you were not supposed to defeat them because they acted as anti-bot measures which is fitting considering his profile).

That aside, I don't think he looks too simple considering when he was designed, as part of the very first waves of Ultimates with the pendulums. Designs like Pukumon, Pinochimon or like even Rosemon were not exactly bursting with detail. Even the fact that Griffomon combines cyborg parts with his Mythical beast inspiration (unlike for example Plesiomon) is something that was uncommon back in the day.

Definitely joints. It might have been a nice touch if the snake had its eyes somehow separated from it's own "section" and implanted in the head but that's not how it was ever portrayed. It's likely just an unfortunate reuse of brush presets.

I hate that they retconned it into having a single horn instead of two.
I don't remember there ever being two horns... Even the early Pendulum illustrations show him with only one.

??? I only remember this Griffomon have one horn and I'm sure it's clearly simply part of the helmet so it's not the eyes for me. Having cyborg parts made Griffomon somewhat unique.

I guess I can agree about Griffomon's look for being Ultimate level but at least his supersonic attack can damage enough to Ultimate levels. Even Machine types. So I can imagine if spammed like crazy, it can peel off the surface of their skins. Nasty.

But the worst thing is, Griffomon's snake tail, it only bites. I wish they can add something life threatening attack like fatal poison or decaying acid for this tail.

I did play DMO, just not to the part where you're referring to.

I also never said it never struck me as a mega because of simplicity, only that its design and abilities never conveyed it to be exceptionally powerful like how I imagine other megas.
Mamemons despite their simplistic designs I can imagine being able to defeat MetalGreymons, but for some reason Gryffonmon in my head doesn't seem up to par with megas like Hououmon or MetalGarurumon and its design and abilities feels more perfect or adult level to me

I didn't intend to be presenting that statement as a fact, just a strong hunch. My wording could have been better

I think it’s because the default artwork shows the face in profile making it so that even if it did have two horns, they would fully overlap making it seem as though it only has one.

I'm curious where it was depicted with two horns though. I checked the Pendulum art book and Wikimon after that was said and saw no images of it

Agreed. Imo, Gryphonmon looks like it still in the process of evolving, like MetalGreymon for example. I would even say that MetalGreymon looks stronger than Gryphonmon.

Not a fan of Hippogriffomon being a Perfect-Level either, btw.

Maybe they should downgrade Hippogriffomon to Champion, Gryphonmon to Perfect, and upgrade Entomon to Mega.
But time by time sometimes digimon be more overdesign than old design. Example Deckerdramon, SkullKnightmon, Hackmon, Jazamon.

I said sometimes cause it seem Ghost Game bit simple than other newer digimon.
