The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Booster Set EX-01 Classic Collection. This time it's Greymon.

Greymonlooks like other cards in the set, using his standard reference book art, along with the binary background.

We also get to see the parallel card. This card uses different art of Greymon. This artwork is from St-91, a card from the V2 Starter of Hyper Colosseum back in 1999, and has various elements reformatted to look more like a card from Hyper Colosseum, including some of the card information at the top, and info box at the bottom of the art box, and a background familiar to most fans of the original Digimon card game.

Booster EX-01 Classic Collection will be out on July 30th in Japan.

In addition to that...

In the Large Tamer Exchange Meeting happening tomorrow on Bandai TCG Lobby, it was announced that 100 players would get a random prize.

The prize has been revealed to be a new Agumon promo card. The card itself is a parallel card of BT5-007. The general design suggests it was likely intended to be a Winner's Card at events, before various card game events were closed down, so it showing up elsewhere seems likely.

The image on the left is the size the best quality preview is at. The image on the right is as far as upscaling can take it to make the art look more visible (since it's a parallel card, the text being messy isn't a huge deal for now.)

We have clean card images of Booster Set 6 Double Diamond Cards, the 1st Anniversary Adventure Pack, and more!

If they used more HC art like that special Greymon card less people would be annoyed I think. DRB art cards are just boring but that alt Greymon card is fine.

yeah, I instantly got bored of this set as well. I haven't even cared to look at any of the card effects.
When this set comes to English I have no desire to buy a box or even booster, I'll just get singles of cards with good effects I want

I've not really been looking either.

Relatedly, open question to everyone, have any of the cards from this set been particularly noteworthy or look like they're going to see a lot of play? Seeing the literal same art we've been using for over twenty years on all these is really not getting me going.

As was to be expected, Greymon parallels Garurumon only with supporting Taichi instead of Yamato.

Speaking of Tamers, something I was thinking about last night was that if they ever started running out of normal human Tamers to use then I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Mummymon and Archnemon in their human forms as Tamer cards.

I think there's more than enough Tamers for that to ever be a problem lol, and if it does become a problem they can just pull from whatever the next game at the time would be.

Or, you know, just reuse the same Tamers. Like they have for the five and a half Adventure: Taichi Tamer cards.

I mean, it's aimed pretty squarely at people who have nostalgia for Hyper Colosseum/Digi-Battle. Hell, I haven't been collecting any of these, and I'm still getting a box of EX-01, because I loved the original style. Personally I find the new art lacking in consistency that would make collecting worth it, and this definitely mitigates the issue.

I'm more curious to see what these parallel ones will look like in English; we've seen Agumon directly mimicking Digi-Battle (as opposed to Hyper Colosseum) but this Greymon, along with a few others, don't have any direct English counterparts, so it will be interesting to see if they still maintain the style.
