really amazing effect, a Digimon I like a lot, but I'm not a fan of this art. The Black WarGreymon cameo behind Grandis is cool but I feel like too much is going on in too little space when I'd rather just get a clean look at GrandisKuwagamon

GrandisKuwagamon
[This card can Digivolve: from [GranKuwagamon] for 1 memory]
[When Digivolving] Suspend 1 of your opponent's Digimon. Then, if this Digimon is attacking, you may switch the target of the attack to 1 of your opponent's suspended Digimon.
[Your Turn] This Digimon gets +4000 DP.
[End of Attack] (Once Per Turn) When this Digimon has [GranKuwagamon] or [X-Antibody] in its digivolution cards, suspend 1 of your opponent's Digimon and unsuspend this Digimon.

They should've had it as a lv7, or a lv6 who can evolve from lv6 but I suppose being able to evolve from GranKuwagamon makes it less of a "it can evolve from basically anything" maybe that's the best thing to do going forward - having the alt forms like this and burst modes etc being this way.

it can still digivolve from any green Lv. 5 but I understand by "from anything" you mean "from any green Lv. 6".
I think they went about its evolution the best way they could have

There's no real reason why GrandisKuwagamon would be Lv.7 or another Rafflesimon-situation.

As an X-Antibody-carrier, GrandisKuwagamon is the X-Antibody-counterpart of GranKuwagamon, just with a unique name. Its alternative evolution condition reflects this (BT9-017 Dukemon X for comparison).

As a standalone Digimon in other media, GrandisKuwagamon is almost always a regular Ultimate Digimon that evolves from a Perfect Digimon.

From a visual design standpoint, GrandisKuwagamon is GranKuwagamon's parallel to Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode, whose card (BT8-032) is also a regular Lv.6 (albeit with a similar alternative evolution condition).

Oh, I didn't realise Figther Mode couldn't evolve from lv6 Digimon. I guess this is what theyre going with going forward? I do prefer that to just allowing Mode Changes to be from both lv5 and lv6, seems like a better way to balance them. I'd rather than that the Rafflesimon thing were it can evolve from a bajillion things. Cuz MetalGreymon Alterous Mode evolves from lv4 and lv5 red Digimon, and that's a bit of a mess.

Also I'm pretty sure Grandis is intended to be GranKuwagamon Figther Mode, they'd just call it GranKuwagamon X otherwise.

...Y'know, I'm only just now realizing that GrandisKuwagamon is the Wormmon/Dinobeemon-equivalent to Fighter Mode now that y'all are pointing it out. That makes so much sense in retrospect and I just never saw it due to associating GranKuwagamon more with regular Kuwagamon and Oukuwamon, I feel dumb now.

Anyways, card is neat, though I do agree that the art's probably a bit too busy for my tastes.

For me, everything about GrandisKuwagamon is perfect except for the eye. I think it would be cooler if he retained GranKuwagamon's (two) eyes.

What the Hades...? GrandisKuwagamon actually have scary teeth?! Since Sasasi the artist confirmed the legendary creature of Alphamon's summon being DORUgoramon-like on his twitter, so this artist can confirm it has teeth?

I always thought it has cyclops eye only with no jaw/mouth. Just robot insect with WarGreymon appearance.

I guess the artwork isn't that all scary or menacing compared to that BelielVamdemon artworks.

This isn't a case of an artist's personal interpretation of a never-before-seen element. GrandisKuwagamon has always had teeth. Its card in Crusader has a high enough resolution of the artwork to show that even its official reference artwork has teeth.

To be honest, I thought it completely lacked the mouth and only neck.... Those pictures aren't enough to prove it. More appearances could help.

Hence why I included Xros Wars. It's an animated appearance that clearly shows GrandisKuwagamon's mouth, both regular GrandisKuwagamon and Honey Mode. He even talks in both forms, mouth opening included.

Yeah I remember this. Defeated along with GaiOumon...

Well even if it's anime appearance, I stopped viewing it as "solid evidence" because of Dynasmon. Often had weird designs around his mouth in the episodes. Oh yes. MagnaGarurumon suffered this too.

Eh at least I will get used to this GrandisKuwagamon having the mouth.

Just imagine if this was Ken's Wormmon warp Digivolving to grandisKuwagamon fighting Black Wargreymon.

So it's the original Grankuwagamon but better, right?
