Gotsumon & Monochromon Previews for Booster Set 14

The Digimon Card Game Twitter has updated with card previews from Booster Set 14 Blast Ace. This time it's Gotsumon & Monochromon.

Gotsumon features him lifting a large (for him)boulder, with Monochromon in the background, while Monochromon features him doing a running leap. It sort of feels like these could be a few seconds apart event, which is fun.

Gotusmon sure has a lot of cards. And this is now the 4th colour he's in, not much more till he can evolve to every Digimon in the franchise. Could easily be in Blue for Icemon for a 5th colour later

2 cost Monochromon Blocker is hmm when there's already a 1 cost Monochromon Blocker. The 1 cost loses you 2 memory if you attack with it but like you're not gonna attack with it any Blocker Monochromon anyway

Wonder if the next one is Triceramon? Love this evo line, focusing on defense, with a good deal of attack power too as Triceramon, and Ultimate Brachimon.

Speaking of colors, I still want to see more color cards for Pulsemon and Gammamon like purple and Blue for Pulsemon and Blue, Green, and Purple for Gammamon.

Could be Megadramon instead? Triceramon wasn't in season one which this set focuses on (I know the monochromon in the background of gotsumon references 02 but that feels more like the artist did it from their own choice and even if it was meant as 02 reference in regards to both these cards I doubt we get stuff not in adventure since these guys were. We got ebemon sure but when Vademon took this long to come it's not like ebemon had elsewhere to be used).

Huh I guess the newer cards will introduce all evos from each anime season like this Gottsumon-Monochromon that means Syakomon-Octomon cards will soon have their new cards eventually and others, too? Or I'm not so sure...

It's not strange to see certain Child forms to get so many color cards I guess I'm already gotten used to it so much lately...

Gotsumon was the starter I chose in Hacker's Memory. I originally evolved him into Icemon then Meteormon because it was funny but unfortunately there's no Mega level Gotsumon recolor so I de-digivolved it and evolved it into a digimon I had never seen before that would go on to he one of my favorites: PileVolcamon!
Having three evolution stages of the same character design really endeared me to Gotsumon

It's a shame gotsumon can't evolve to monochromon in hackers memory.

They've done a couple cards recently like vegimon and vademon too where their evolutionary link is old but cyber sleuth forgot about it but the cards didn't.

I guess because they limited all Digimon to 6 evolutions in order to fit on one screen. Gotsumon already had four evolutions in Cyber Sleuth (Ankylomon, Clockmon, Starmon, Tankmon), and when Hacker's Memory expanded the roster, Icemon and Golemon were obvious choices for the last two. Monochromon was just the odd one out, and they apparently didn't want to remove any of the existing evolutions (the one exception, as I recall, being Hackmon, who lost the ability to Warp Evolve to Jesmon due to the in-between forms being added in).

Don't understand why they didn't link Vegimon and Vademon, though. Vegimon's only evolutions were generic plant/nature-based stuff in AtlurKabuterimon and Lilamon...... and Digitamamon for some reason. And it's not like there weren't other Adults who had four Perfect options, even before the Hacker's Memory update (and incidentally, without Vademon, Vegimon doesn't even get an option to continue as a Virus type line). Meanwhile, Vademon evolves from GoldNumemon, Sukamon, and PlatinaSukamon. All of them poop-throwers, but not Vegimon.
