I recently watched Shadowverse Flame and I thought of these.

Dracomon > Coredramon blue > Wingdramon > Slayerdramon > Examon

Because he uses a dragoncraft deck, he has a Digifriend called Draconir that looks like a mix of Coronamon, Dracomon, and Shoutmon and his ace Laevateinn Dragon is similar to Cryspaledramon and Slayerdramon.

Itsuki Mitsutagawa:
Pomumon > Sunflowmon > Lillymon/Ajatarmon > Bloomlordmon

Subaru Makabe:
Ghostmon > Meramon > Skullmeramon > Shroudmon

Shion Otosaka/Gentlemen:
Lunamon > Lekismon > Crescemon > Dianamon
Pawnchessmon white > knightchessmon white/black > Rookchessmon > Queen chessmon

She uses Runecraft deck which constructed of chess cards also she loves rabbits and her avatar is a rabbit man.

Ok I've been thinking about it for a long time so I think these digimon fits the characters from Slayers.

Lina Inverse: candmon-wizarmon-mistymon-Dynasmon.

Although this line fits Xellos more (especially since Akira Ishida voices both Xellos and wizarmon.) I dont know what to pick for lina.

Goury Gabriev: kotemon-gladimon-knightmon-cranniummon.

Zelgadis: sunalizamon-golemon-gogmamon-Blastmon.

Amelia: cupimon-lucemon-lucemon:falldown mode-????.

Its gonna be fun imagining lucemon being Amelia's sentai protege spreading justice!!.I swear now that I think about it Lucemon gives me heavy phibrizzo vibes.

Valgaav: impmon-devimon-Baalmon-Beelzebumon.

His arc in tamers reminds LOT of Valgaavs in slayers try.
I'll think of Xellos,Naga and the rest later and I'm planning to do the same with the characters in Bastard!!!.

Wait a minute.... if Valgaav is an ancient dragon and Aeroveedramon is an ancient type....oh well I'll still give him the impmon line.

Spoiler: Commentary

Child stages represent their suits, with the Adults being the zords. That`s why the Stone Canyon Trio has the same Rookies but different Adults, as they start with the Thunderzords. Kat is the exception due to starting as a brainwashed Rita minion, with Meicoomon being her monstrous form. Later stages represent their new zords/powers as the season's progress.

The Ancients represent the elements of the Omega Rangers. AncientSphinxmon is outside of this rule, he's simply an Ultimate level sphinx for the Sphinx Zeozord.

Gokumon is Jason possesed by the Death Ranger. Since he loses the ability to morph after that, I adapted it as Agumon being reborn later as BushiAgumon for Zeo.

Aisha is sadly stuck at Perfect level due to leaving before Zeo, thus not getting her "upgrade". Also, lack of bear Ultimates.

Turbo powers were mostly not represented, I'm headcanoning it as a change of Digivice only. Except Kat, who had an open slot for Ultimate, and partialy Adam, as Kazuchimon's element also refers to Desert Thunder.

Tommy has a secondary line to represent all his powers up to Dino Thunder.

• Frozomon - Shoto Todoroki with Apollomon being his father
• Gravimon - Ochaco Uraraka
