I can't quite make it out, but is there something noteworthy reflecting in Gigimon's eyes? Or is it just the other side of the park?

These are pretty terrible cards, no reason to use them over the existing Gigimons and Guilmons. And it's not like theyre only the second ones so you'd use them as background dudes for more archetype support like the new Huckmons where they're okay but just in the deck for more search targets... there's a lot of Guilmons already. The others do their thing better than this one.

The Gigimon art is so precious!! I love the baby digimon art in this game, they tend to be quite adorable.

These two cards are literally good cards, you just think that because they aren't strictly better than previously printed cards that they're terrible.
They have great effects that support what preexisting archtypes want to do and they have balanced play costs for those effects. They're not terrible, just maybe not optimized for top level play (assuming that's true?).

Some people might find Gigimon a great 5th card for their Digitamas, some new players might simply like this very solid Guilmon and get good mileage and fond memories from it before they discover a card they want to replace it with, or maybe somebody who optimizes decks sees a strength in adding these two or are playing a deck/deck variant you haven't considered where these are the better picks.
Some people also like to only play cards from specific sets or like to play sealed where they may love this card.

You constantly post hyper-Spike takes while forgetting that Timmys and Johnnys exist

This Gigimon is really interesting and it's going to be fun to see how it shakes out in the bt12 meta. I remember when Turueimon was seeing play in yellow decks because it's DP was just above the breakpoint for cards like Nidhoggmon and Alter-S.

That extra 1k DP that is now available from the digitama might push a deletion effect into a critical breakpoint to clear a common digimon of concern. Off the top of my head, it shoves EX2 Guilmon's source effect deletion into the 4k DP range and EX2 Growlmon's Attacking effect into the 5k range. A strong early performer in BT11 was the Red Birds deck, whose level 4s all fold to a boosted Growlmon trigger.

I think DP-augmenting effects are the hardest to judge up front without knowing the relevant threats that you need to respond to, but I'm keeping my eye on this guy.
