Ghost Game Updates- Digivice V Sleep Mode & VB Used Dims, Digimon Stickers, Mention of Importance of Brand In & Out of Japan

A few different Ghost Game related updates thanks to Famitsu...

First up, some Digivice V news! (Previous info here.)

Somewhat obvious, but they confirm this is the Digivice that will be used in Ghost Game.

For the device itself, while it looks the same as the Vital Bracelet, there are at least 2 updates:
A sleep mode has been added.
It will allow usage of Dims that were registered to a Vital Bracelet. No details on this at the moment.

The Digivice V will also work with the standard Vital Bracelet Lab app that's already in use, and they show a preview of it.

Then we return to the chocolates with stickers coming out in October...

We hadn't seen 3 of the 'normal' stickers, and 2 of the 'secret rare' stickers. The 3 normal ones are the 3 new Digimon we've seen in Ghost Game promotional material.





Then, no image, but it's confirmed gashapon toys will be coming out in November. These may be the ones where we first found out the Digimon anime would continue along in some form pushed back a month, or something else.



And last up, in the article Bandai brings up Digimon in their stack of IPs.

They note it's importance as a franchise popular in both Japan and overseas,. They will be positioning it as one of their more important IPs to accelerate their overseas business plans, with long-term development worldwide an important part of this. It's popularity outside of Japan is mentioned a few other times in the article.

If they really want the IP becoming big overseas, start with making P-Bandai easily accessible without the need of proxy. Make the distributions of the items regionally equal. If they could do that, i predict Digimon will be on the same level as Pokemon, especially in this stalled and no innovation state of that Nintendo IP.

Despite the potential of Pulsemon being a lead character in its own series (let alone making an anime appearance sooner rather than later), I'm genuinely surprised that they introduced a bunch of new Digimon for Ghost Game, let alone a new set of Vital Bracelet DiM Cards to go along with the new series - not that I'm complaining!

The product synergy with the newest Digivice being based on the Vital Bracelet is a no-brainer to me, and shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone given the nature of the Digimon franchise as a whole.

I am, however, intrigued on Bandai's reassurance in the Digimon brand as a core brand for both Japan and its worldwide market. It makes a longtime casual fan like myself happy to hear that, even after all these years and despite heavy competition, there's still an incentive to create new games, toys, and stories for Digimon.

I'm not saying this would be an overnight equalizer, I should add have a potential to elaborate what i meant. But the need of Bandai to broadening the reach of their IPs is so critical because AFAIK Bandai seems cannot reach a big presence outside Asia market.

Was really expecting Gamma to be vaccine, Angora for data, and Jelly for Virus.

I’m loving the compatibility of it all, it emphasizes that the device itself is more of a conduit than anything else. I probably won’t get this particular upgrade (although the sleep mode sounds good) but they’re making the right moves.

I skipped the original VB because it was a disappointment, maybe if this one is enough of an improvement I might consider it.
I have been looking at wristwatches lately and the dark blue matches my cape.

Interestingly. So Angoramon's body isn't Yeti as now I see the rabbit ears being treated like the ponytail. I guess that is somewhat acceptable for a digimon.

So Angoramon is Vaccine not Data and Jellymon is not Virus but data?

Pity Monochromon and Triceramon are mostly Data. I was hoping we'd finally have fully Data horned dino evo line. But nope!

Can't wait to see their evo lines.

Anime protagonist Digimon usually get a new line of evolutions. It's nice to see the Baby forms, though. A good indication they're sticking to 'normal' Digimon rules.

So, I'll wonder how they'll fill it up:
- Multiple lines, exclusively with new Digimon from the upcoming Anime.
- Only one line, like the gashapons.
- Multiple lines, with one consisting of the new, canon, evolution line and the rest filled with existing Digimon.
