New guide listings for Digimon Ghost Game!

These have episode titles and plot synopsis' for episodes 29 thru 32 (the official episode title translations in the end may very well be different than these). We already had the title for 29.




Plot synopsis/descriptions by their nature will have minor spoilers, so consider this fair warning.



Episode 29- Monster Pollen (June 12)
One afternoon, Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai and his partner Jellymon meet a lost girl named Yuina at a department store. Yuina becomes fond of Kiyoshiro by strange coincidence, and he tries to take her to the lost child center, but gets attacked by Kodokugumon on the way. A swarm of Kodokugumon attack the people while hiding in the shadows. There's a thick fog surrounding the department store, so even if they tried to run, they wouldn't be able to see their way around outside to escape. Hiro Amanokawa and Ruli Tsukiyono hear about the commotion of a thick fog covering a singular corner of the city and arrive at the scene. Unable to get in contact with Kiyoshiro, Angoramon flies up to the skies to check out the situation when he senses the presence of a particular Digimon.

Episode 30- Bad Influence (June 19)
ExTyranomon and WaruMonzaemon suddenly appear before Kayono Aramaki, a junior high school student who's been skipping school. The two cozy up towards Kayono, asking to play. At first, Kayono is confused, but gradually warms up to them when they turn Kayono's nagging father and homeroom teacher into dolls. As their friendship grows, ExTyranomon and WaruMonzaemon also grow in stature. Kayono's childhood friend, Aoi, visits Kayono's home, but Aoi is also turned into a doll. Ruli gets worried when she suddenly can't get in contact with Aoi, and contacts Hiro to begin a search for Aoi. They find a suspicious Hologram Ghost shaped like a yellow bear and follow it. Meanwhile, Kayono, accompanied by ExTyranomon and WaruMonzaemon, wander through the town, changing people they pass in the streets and people in the park into dolls. They begin to play a cruel game with the dolls.

Episode 31- Tsujigiri (June 26)
A "tsujigiri Digimon" appears, attacking both humans and Digimon left and right with an eerie sword in hand. On the very night that Angoramon learns about it, he runs into the tsujigiri Digimon by pure coincidence. But the truth was that the Digimon wasn't the culprit; whoever holds the sword gets changed into a tsujigiri. When Angoramon touches the sword, he is driven by the urge to slay someone. Will Angoramon be transformed into the dread tsujigiri Digimon?! [Tsujigiri is the practice of when a samurai gets a new weapon or technique, would test it out, often on a random passerby.]

Episode 32- Who Are You (July 3)
The peaceful everyday routine of Hiro's partner Gammamon is slowly disrupted. He's stood up by his friend Gotsumon and Hiro says he saw him in a place where he wasn't supposed to be. Then one day, when he returns to Hiro's room after a day out, he finds another Gammamon there. "I'm Gammamon!" he claims, but neither Hiro, Ruli, or Kiyoshiro believe him. They think the other Gammamon is the real Gammamon. Having lost the place he belongs, Gammamon wanders around in sorrow... The other Gammamon is Betsumon in disguise, whose goal is to take Gammamon's place and together with its fellow Betsumon crew, plans to take over the dormitory. When Gammamon returns to the dormitory, he learns of the Betsumons' plan and tries to tell Hiro about it.





A few evolution hints perhaps, plus plushies, and the appearance of one of the most beloved Digimon there is.

I just read, it means a practice with a katana and if Zubamon is making a debut in the anime its not a katana but based on the Durandal.

I agree with you. Is there even a plot for this show at all? We are nearly thirty episodes in and have seen no hint at a plot whatsoever, just a random episodic direction with no real villain or purpose as to why it exists. I really miss Adventure badly, everything including the awesome music, wish it would have been a sequel to the 2020 reboot instead of this. For all the complaints about it being too Taichi focused with too little character exploration in favor of continuous battle, these characters here are dreadfully boring and have no real reason to exist.

Lamortmon do have a sword or two so maybe if Angoramon uses the sword he could turn into Lamortmon and became berserk so the mission is to purify the sword and I'm really eager to see Betsumon in a Gammamon costume

The director made no secret about the fact that this would be episodic from the start. You should stop expecting this show to be like the other series and just watch it similar to how someone watches gegege no Kitaro, Batman the animated series or the ghost busters tv shows. Also, it looks like we might get not just one but two perfect evolutions in this batch, so there is progress.

All the other episodes have a Perfect-level so it only makes sense for episode 31 to also have a Perfect-level, but I can't think of a Digimon that fits the description. Maybe Duramon?

The weird thing, i like Ghost game but dislike Adventure 2020. I'm the type who like series with big plot.
Ghost game giving same vibe as Scooby-doo, i still enjoy it and like it. I just don't understand why Adventure 2020 or other anime this day make me bored.

I like plot based shows too. But the problem with adventure 2020 is that its plot wasn't something worth caring about. It was just a generic save the world story with nothing really interesting in it. Made even worse by its mostly 1-dimensional characters with very stale personality. Ghost Game may not be plot driven, but I always look forward to its episodes much more than 2020 because of the horror Twist added and the creative ways to make Digimon terrifying. The ghost game trio is also a lot more entertaining to watch than the 2020 cast, especially the Digimon.

I get not being into the more episodic format, I'm not either to be honest. But also I stopped watching and now just watch clips, because that kind of fun, light episodic structure is clearly what they intend to stick with (and they're doing a really good job with it, from what I recall -- it wasn't my personal jam, but they were very competently executing on the kind of story they intended to tell). I feel like, if you've hit Episode 29 and you're still hoping for some kind of serialised plot to appear, you're probably wasting your time.

Adventure 2020's problem was that it was going for that kind of serialised storytelling, and it just wasn't doing a very good job of it, I feel.

I'm too really tired of this episodic direction, but at least maybe we are getting the other two ultimates soon, so things might get more exciting.

31 sounds like Lamortmon's debut, finally!

I have high hopes from these episodes, they have very intriguing concepts! And as usual, the stakes are high with each of them. I really want to see the Betsumon episode, Betsumon being played as an actual threat is quite interesting to me.

I don't like 32. We already had the whole Fake and real thing and it was shown the partners had no issue recognising the real ones. So what, only Digimons can tell? Just fucking make Gammamon evolve to see which one is real. That's like the worst kind of generating drama for drama's sake.

You're implying that they're going to use betsumon for drama instead of comedy
