Episode 72 of Fun Digica just went up.

With Booster Set 5 out soon Cody & Hideyoshi showed off the secret rares, along with some recommended cards...

Omegamon X and Omegamon Zwart Defeat!

We previously saw Defeat on promo art, and the card from a recent magazine, but this is the first relatively high quality shot of it in full color we have. (We expect the often seen Booster Set 5 Promo Art of him will likely appear on a parallel card.)

Omegamon X is the heavily teased X Digimon appearing in the set. They actually had partially revealed a card with him before, they just had it covered up a lot and brought no attention to it (in that case, likely a parallel card, featuring some familiar art of him...) In the case of Omegamon X, the art is done by As'Maria, the well known designer of many X Digimon.



And the recommended cards are all ones we've seen, so we won't go over them, minus one...

Armagamon we only previously had a lower quality magazine image of, so getting him clean shows off his art quite nicely.



Digimon Card Game Booster Set 5 Battle of Omega is scheduled to release on February 26th.

Omnimon/Omegamon X

Can evolve from a digimon with Omnimon/Omegamon in its name while ignoring its standard evolution costs.
When it attacks it targets and destroys an opponent Digimon with less DP than it
If an opponent declares an attack you can remove 2 evolution sources to negate the attack.

So we've seen the joke evolution stacks as a result of Shoutmon DX's effect as well as Alterous and Sagittarus. but with this on top you can cancel out a full turn of attacks from a zoo deck.

As usual, Omegamon Zwart D is always the coolest and edgier one.

Everyone thought about Omegamon X at least once since "Battle of Omega" was revealed, but personally I wasn't expecting to see him at this point, with 4 level 7 already revealed . But I was wondering who would have been the second secret rare.

So, there is also a reference to the Omega Inforce in his effect. Of course it is a very powerful card, no surprise, and majestic artwork too.

To absolutely no one's surprise, the mysterious X Digimon was indeed Omegamon X. I love the golden X-Antibody sigil in the back of the text box. Also interesting to see that the X-Antibodies have their own Type which I suspect means we'll be seeing cards that specifically target them sooner or later.

Detailed? Huh for me, I thought the skin is tougher rubber as its legs but I guess that is interesting.

Omegamon X's effects refers to:

Evolving with X Antibody. All Delete on one enemy (I wish it's "enemies"). And Omega Inforce.

Perfect, I'd say! They sure know how to make card effects fun and references to match well.

So, Omegamon X can evolve into Omegamon X, then? That's probably going to be the X Digimon mechanic ("digimon with _____ in their name can evolve into this") and it's almost certainly going to cause some hilarity somewhere down the line once we start getting some with effects that stack onto the evos.

Most likely they'll either wait until it causes problems on the tournament scene, or they'll wait until they know it's about to.
