Fun Digica 129- Booster Set 10 Card Previews- Gankoomon X, Sistermon Ciel, Jesmon GX, & Seiken Meppa

Episode 129 recently Fun Digica went up.

The new episode of Fun Digica has Cody and Miyano introduce cards from Booster Set 10 Xros Encounter! This time we get a small stack of cards based around a small familiar group...



Jump into the cards. These are all new ones that I don't believe we've seen before.

We start off with Gankoomon X, who gets some really nice art, which appears to be him charging up Quake! Lightning! Fire! Father!
Sistermon Ciel gets her first card in Japan with some cute artwork of her and Lilymon going shopping, and they're about to stop for a break.
Jesmon GX is the 2nd secret rare for the set, and features very mech style art of him that just has a very impressive look to it.
Seiken Meppa features Jesmon GX doing his mighty combo attack, that is his take on Tekken Seisai from Gankoomon.




And after Fun Digica went up, they put up slightly larger previews which have the sample text.

I was wondering what they would do with Jesmon GX's evolution condition.
I was expecting "[Jesmon X] or [Gankoomon X]", or "Digimon with [Jesmon] or [Gankoomon] in its name" if they wanted to include the non-X-counterparts.

But "Lv.6 [Royal Knights]" is more generic than I expected. Should've expected it in hindsight, and it's less wordier too. Since it specifies Lv.6, it also technically excludes Magnamon (except the X-counterpart) and Omegamon.

Awesome Jesmon GX card, does GX have a tail? I didn’t know Ciel and Lillymon did shopping together.

I still wonder if Canoweissmon will get a mega that looks something like Jesmon GX.

Huh, IIRC Ciel won one of the recent-ish DigiPolls for most memorable Digimon from the first dozen episodes of Ghost Game. I wonder if that influenced her sudden appearance in this Set?

I didn't expect to get Jesmon GX in this set, never mind all these other cards. Drool worthy.

Gankoomon X is okay, and putting it under GX will give a free Sistermon which can be fun depending on who comes out.

I was a little confused on Ciel's effect at first but it seems if you do it last and go over Memory you can then evolve for more memory and there's prob some crazy combos you can pull off to carry on from getting lots of memory. Be funny if this in English turns into Noir somehow. Damn Bandai tho, letting Japan have all three waifus in their decks.

Jesmon GX, the lv7 I've been waiting for. I'll have to see what other Royal Knights do to see if they're worth playing to take advantage of that first effect. Gankoomon under gives a free sister. Should hopefully have some interesting options since there's a lot of RKs.

Seiken Mappa can basically win a game for you. Especially if you can do the previous Savior/Jes double attack with the one Savior left. Becomes four.

The support from the starter deck and this set...there's way too much stuff for sister/jesus decks and it's not gonna be fun deciding what I should use lmao.

Whoa what the Hades? Jesmon GX's effect is insane and so powerful! But weird the evo requirement didn't list Gankoomon due to "GX" name... So Jesmon X goes GX by just "borrowing" one of the Royal Knight members? Ehh sorta like Imperialdramon Paladin Mode.

Sistermon Ciel shopping with Lilymon in the digital world? I bet it's Digitamamon who owns this coffee cafe shop obviously c'mon...

So that is what Jesmon GX ora ora ora look like in his Seiken Meppa!

Hell yeah! I knew JesmonGX would be a Level 7, but it's nice to see confirmation. Now to see if they'll do the same with ShoutmonX7 Superior Mode (Data-types could sure use some more Super Ultimates, even if Shoutmon only became Data after the fact). Pretty wierd that they're just letting GX evolve from any Lv6 Royal Knight, though.

So Japan gets Sistermon Ciel. Are they finally gonna stop F-ing around and allow Noir in the states, or is having both just gonna be a Japan-only privilege?

Really, so long as both exist in the game anyway, they should just do away with that ruling altogether.

So now to look at every lv6 Royal Knight to see which of them Jesmon GX can benefit from.

Alphamon; BT-9-066 you can put an X card under Jesmon GX. depends if you wanna focus mostly on X stuff I guess

Craniamon; n/a, doesn't have an on digivolve effect

Gallantmon; BT2-020 you can destroy a 6000DP or lower Digimon if you have a Tamer. meh effect

Dynasmon; BT6-044 you can nuke one of your own security to look at the top six of your deck and add two lv6 or below Digimon to your hand and trash the rest. could get some good digimon from it and add dudes to trash to recycle with other effects but prob not worth running dynasmon on the off chance youll have him in your hand to use his effect since its the only way itll be useable.

Crusadermon; n/a, doesn't have an on digivolve effect

UlforceVeedramon; ST8-10 can kill a lv4 or below. P-048 can return three digimon from the trash to the deck and unsuspend a tamer. dont think the effect to turn itself unsuspended would be relevant as it's not inheritable and would only trigger from seiken mappa i think. would need to ask ruling gods about this interaction. I also don't actually run any Tamers in my deck in the first place.

Kentarousmon; bt3-043 makes two enemy digimon lose two secruity attacks.

Leopardmon; bt3-030 you can play a lv4 or lower digimon from below jesmon gx to the field for free. that would be interesting because you can choose someone with in play effects for some free shenanigans. but how often would you pull that trick off...

Gankoomon; bt6-067 kill all of the strongest opponent's digimon. st12-11, play a free hackmon or sistermon.

Jesmon; st12-10 gains blitz when evolving but since i dont think that would pass on, and jesmon gx gains blitz anyway i suppose its not relevant.

hmmmmmm, not as many targets for useful effects as you think there'd be you know. most relevant ones would be bt6-067 gankoomon and leopardmon, though i dont know how viable itd be to run leopardmon just to be able to play a free lv4 since it's a dead card in your hand unless you have jesmon gx out. so in the end, it's prob best to just use it exclusively with jesmon and gankoomon and might work in a deck that focuses on gallantmon since he's red. prob not worth teching into an alphamon deck but i dont know that deck very well so maybe it would be worth using as an extra lv7. bt6-067 gankoomon would be a dead card too if you don't run black lv5 digimon, which i don't. so for me i guess the only relevant card could be st12-11 gankoomon

Of course we know the existing noirs count as ciels so assuming the deck building rules pertain to name and not card number this should still limit you to any combination of Noir and ciel to equal 4 copies. Though if this Ciel does not count as a noir it would be interesting since it would mean that Japanese players could not put it under BT7-083 viat BT7-083's on play effect while players onf the english version could.

NoirCiel awakened is a bad card anyway tbh, I don't use it so it after lots of testing so shouldn't effect much as I don't think there's space for that card in the deck amd this was even before all the new support came.

Even if they don't allow you to count this as a Noir card, you'd still be have 8 cards from the two Noirs that exist

Since JESmon GX is both black and X-Antibody, you can use Yuji to stack Alphamon's under him every turn to increase his security attack, and have him benefit off of the lower level black X-antibody support.

Or you can just put him under a dorugoramon or dorugreymon and then play him for 4 cost with kaiser nail.

What blue card would you have out to be able to use Kaiser Nail? do Alphamon decks run Blue Digimon and Tamers?

Im just curious if this version will get the "This card is also treated as Sistermon Noir, and also treated as a virus type" ruling or not. I mean I would LOVE to see it just morph into our first Noir card but it does seem unlikely since they did indeed replace Noir with Ciel... I guess we could get a 4th sister?

Sistermon Rosé?

A new Sistermon won't work, because then there would be a discrepancy in gameplay between the Western game and the Japanese game. The only way that would work is if they ruled that this Sistermon 'Rosé' counts as both [Sistermon Noir] and [Sistermon Ciel] in both the Japanese and the Western games, but then that defeats the whole purpose of it.

Besides, there's already a ruling for BT6-084 [Sistermon Noir] that treats it as [Sistermon Ciel], even in Japanese. So even if they introduce a new effect that specifically targets [Sistermon Ciel], it would also apply to the older BT6-084 [Sistermon Noir] card. They essentially accounted for this situation already.

Depends, if they don't post a ruling about the new Noir and Ciel cards from the starter deck and this set I can see people being super anal about it and saying that cuz they didn't specify you can't count it for all Sister cards. Something similar is the Panjyamon X card, do you count its ruling that it counts as a Leomon to the regular Panjyamon cards as well, or do you go super technical and say only Panjyamon X does because only the X version states it? some people would defo argue that if only BT6 says it, then only BT6 counts as both names. Depends who the judge is at that point

Of course, they'll have to introduce new rulings on a card-by-card basis.

I'm saying that for the older BT6-084 (got the set number mixed up) and BT7-083 cards, they already accounted for [Sistermon Noir] to count as [Sistermon Ciel], even in Japanese. There's already a 'system' in place that they can continue using.

ok so i looked up some stuff on the english version of the digimoncard.com

Which i assume is for the parts of the world that just use the JP version of the cards Looks like St12 Noir has the asterisk on it that says it counts a s Ciel

Looks like back in march BT7 noir Awakaned was errata'd to target both Noir or Ciel

So looks like both versions of BT7's Noir/Ciel awake will be able to target BT10 ciel with the effects.
