Episode 118 recently Fun Digica went up.

The new episode of Fun Digica has Cody and Miyano introduce cards from Booster Set 9 X Record! This time we get a small stack of cards with a focus on some evil cards.

Jump into the cards. Mostly cards we haven't seen before. (I think one or two we had magazine previews of, but don't recall.)

We start off with a pack of Death-X-Dorugamon hunting.
Then we get a card showing off Death-X-Evolution!!
Death-X-Dorugoramon roaring continues this preview of evil looking cards.
And we finish off with Death-X-mon.

And after Fun Digica went up, they put up slightly larger previews which have the sample text.

Man loving these references the Death X evolution card is awesome and finally Death itself shows up.

I guess we have to wait for part 2 to get the other X antibody digimon.

with a Play cost of 20 I was wondering if this card had an effect that just straight up wins the game like Exodia. Not quite, but it still does terrifying things. I love how its Play reduction effect is a reference to how Dexmon is dormant unless it senses digicores in the vicinity! Very flavorful!

I want to meet the type of person who wants Dex digimons as their partner.

DexDorugamon
This card can digivolve from [Dorugamon] for 0 memory.
[When Digivolving] You may trash 1 card in your hand with [Dex] in its name or with [X-Antibody] in its traits to gain 1 memory.
[When Digivolving] If this Digimon has [Dorugamon] in its digivolution cards or digivolved from the trash, 1 of your Digimon gains <Blocker> and <Retaliation> until the end of your opponent's turn.

Death-X-Evolution!!
|X-Antibody|
If you have a Digimon with [X-Antibody] in its traits in play, you may play this card without meeting its color requirements.
[Main] 1 of your Digimon can digivolve into a Digimon from your trash with [Dex] in it’s name by paying its memory cost.
Security: Add this card to your hand.

DexDorugoramon
[This card cam Digivolve from [Dorugoramon] for 2 memory]
[When Digivolving] If this Digimon has [Dorugoramon] in its digivolution cards or when this Digimon digivolves from the trash, delete all of your opponent's Digimon with the lowest level.
[On Deletion] You may play a level 3 purple or black Digimon from your trash without paying its play cost. If you have 5 or more cards with [Dex] in their names in your trash, you may instead play 1 [Dexmon] from your trash without paying it's play cost.

Dexmon
When you would play this card, reduce the play cost by 3 for each of your opponent's Digimon and Tamers in play.
[On Play] [When Digivolving] <De-Digivolve 1> All of your opponent's Digimon. Then, delete all of your opponent's level 4 or lower Digimon.
[End of Opponent's Turn] [Once Per Turn] Delete all of your opponent's Digimon with the lowest play cost.

Interesting how even "Death-X-Evolution" has [X-Antibody] as a trait, so you can use it for effects that require [X-Antibody] or even as an Evolution Base material (like Ouryumon's effect).

I'm leaning towards a Black-focused style for a "Death-X" deck. These "Death-X" cards in general seem to require a lot of set-up, and the Purple side of things just seems too slow.
The synergy with the other Black cards (Dorumon's line, Ryudamon's line, their Tamers) seems much faster than the trash-evolution synergy with Dracumon's line. You can also ignore the Color requirements for these X-Antibody Option cards by having an X-Antibody Digimon anyways.

As expected, Death-X-mon doesn't have [X-Antibody] as its trait, just like its DRB profile. However, I wasn't expecting [X-Program] to be its trait. I had to double-check to make sure whether the "X-Program" card itself has this trait (it doesn't).

I didn't think Dexmon would be level 7, it makes sense but I figured it might not be enough an be seen more like a Burst Mode. I guess if he's meant to "paralell" Alphamon O it makes sense.

As for that Death-x-evolution card, it says you can evolve a Digimon to a Digimon with "Dex" in its name. Does that mean any Digimon, or just those that meet the requirements?

It doesn't say "ignoring its evolution requirements" or "ignoring its level", so no.

If you want an example of an Option that does ignore evolution requirements: "Awakening of the Golden Knight" (BT9-098).

so it's more like an extension of the "any digimon can evolve into another digimon 1 stage up in the same color" philosophy. I originally thought the card was implying that any digimon, especially x-antibody digimon, can be modified in a Frankenstein way into a DexDoru which was kind of wild; but only black and purple digimon doing so is just usual Digimon Card Game

I really like all artworks on DORUmon's Death-X evo lines preying although Death-X-DORUgoramon didn't prey on this art.
Death-Xmon is lv7 obviously. It shows how powerful he is! That nasty effects...

Death-X-DORUgoramon's neck details are quite interesting.

Now next is for all parallel arts yet to reveal....

Death-X-mon is Lv. 7 makes sense if we follow one evolution one level from the card game aspect. The few digimon that I thought should be Lv. 8 Digimon are Omegamon MM, ZeedMillenniumon and MoonMillenniumon. But after looking at Omegamon MM card, I understand why they likely decided not to add Lv. 8 into the game.

I don't see why Zeed/MoonMillenniumon would be lv8 when Millenniumon is just lv6. For Omegamon MM, if you see it as 8 Digimon fusion instead of Omegamon + 6 others, it'd make more sense as a lv7.

Millenniummon is Lv. 7

Omegamon MM to Omegamon is like Dukemon CM to Dukemon, or Alphamon Ouryuken to Alphamon. But as I said, it's unlikely to add a Lv. 8 into the game if there are only few digimon to be in that level.
