Don't know if this will be particularly useful, but I think it is interesting and decided to compile my findings. I noticed that there was this manhua that came out for the Digital Monster Ver.5 release called "Fight! Digital Tyrannosaurus", and started poking around a bit. There was a little picture of part of the cover included on this Spanish timeline which can be found in this timeline thread. Also in this thread, Exiled shared a link to someone who was either selling a copy or simply posting about it. In the comments section were these pictures a user called "Tsurugi_" posted of the covers of the four volumes, plus an additional page.

I also found this guy who seems to have some scans of the manhua, but has password protected them, apparently because he received a notice of some kind: http://wzyl1990.blog.163.com/blog/static/180196035201272910530904/

On this page, there is also another scan of a page similar to the last one in the previous set:

Anyhow, I fear this is one of those bits of Digimon history that is doomed to obscurity, but it's neat to find these kinds of things, even when information is limited.

Neat images.

Oddly, a lot of things that were even reasonably common in the fandom back in 2000 and 2001 online are almost vanished now.

This is super interesting indeed!! I have found in this site some extra information about it:

代理狀況
中國大陸方面,上海世紀出版集團的驚塵(腳本和人設)、黃騏(繪畫)授權創作《數碼寶貝傳說的天空》(共9話,續編於《數碼暴龍最前線》,加入大量中國元素)且連載於《漫動作·少年志》,東方出版社代理余遠鍠的數碼暴龍TV版前4作縮編漫畫;
香港方面,正文社的余遠鍠授權創作《激鬥!!數碼暴龍》和《數碼暴龍D-Cyber超進化龍魂戰記》(共2卷,改編於暴龍機漫畫《數碼獸編年史》)且他將數碼暴龍TV版前4作縮編成漫畫(分別5卷、2卷、4卷、3卷), 代理集英社漫畫《數碼暴龍大冒險V暴龍師-01》 ,皆連載於《CO-CO!》;
台灣方面,青文出版社呂水世授權將《數碼暴龍大冒險》故事改編成漫畫(共4卷,開篇則借鑑了《數碼暴龍大冒險V馴獸師01》劇情)且代理集英社漫畫《數碼寶貝V訓練師01》,東立出版社代理余遠鍠的數碼暴龍TV版前4作縮編漫畫;
新加坡方面,英文和簡體中文版Digimon系列漫畫由創藝出版社代理且在新加坡和馬來西亞發行。

Does anyone in this forum know Chinese?

By the way, I've compared the pinyin of the manhua (激鬥!!數碼暴龍) with the one of D-Cyber (數碼暴龍D-Cyber 超進化龍魂戰記), and I'm pretty sure that 數碼暴龍 stands for Digital Monsters, so the title would be "Fight! Digital Monsters" or something alike.

Ps. In the Spanish timeline it says:

DIGIMON BATTLE WORLD

Another world similar to ours where the V-Pets were created and the Digimon succeed in showing up in the Real World. We never got to see the Digital World of this Universe.

《激鬥!!數碼暴龍》 (Fight!! Digital Monsters)
Published by Rightman Publishing in Hong Kong
Art by 余遠鍠 (Yu Yuen Wong, they did the other Digimon manhua from HK too)

all the other info is about other Chinese Digimon manhua so I omitted it.
and yeah, 數碼暴龍 is the Chinese name for Digimon used in HK. 数码宝贝 is used in Mainland China/Taiwan.

I wouldn't mind finding out more about this. Interesting that the focus seems to be on Digimon from the version 5, which was full of evil/sinister Digimon (the Digimon on volume 2's cover is definitely MetalTyrannomon). Obviously Digimon from the other versions appeared as well, though, at least later on.

By the way... do the three characters on the volume 1 cover look to anyone else like bizzaro 90s versions of the Appmon protagonists? The art, at least in these pictures, is rather odd-looking, with Bandai art of Digimon just straight-up spliced in there.

Today I learned: Apparently being a Chinese Digimon fan is pretty great. None of the Western-made materials for Digimon look this nice. Most of them make me cringe...

What about the alternate Adventure manhua? This is not the same as the one from Tokyopop. http://wzyl1990.blog.163.com/blog/static/1801960352013926105314226/

There is an article about this manhua in Portuguese here that my friend pointed out on Tumblr. http://www.digitalmonster.net.br/2017/07/um-manga-de-adventure-com-v-pet.html?m=1 This guy says about it, I found out Who published this manga was the publisher Ching Win, a Taiwanese publisher specializing mainly in publishing manga from the Japanese publisher Shogakukan (which publishes manga as "Pokémon" and other Nintendo franchises, in addition to "Doraemon") as well as some publisher manga Like Shueisha and Kodansha, for those who do not know Shueisha is the publishing house that publishes manga like Dragon Ball, Knights of the Zodiac.

The guy who did the manhua has a profile here. http://m.zwbk.org/lemma/122102

His profile says 应日本东映株式会社授权,将红透全世界的人气动画《数码宝贝》,编绘台湾中文版漫画。Which Google translates as, “Should be authorized by Japan’s Tohoku Co., Ltd., will be red through the world’s popular animation “digital baby”, compiled Taiwan Chinese version of comics.” I really would like a better translation and find out how offical this is

The Yuen Wong Wu manhua is more famous since it was picked up by TokyoPop in the west. D Cyber is also by the same guy who wrote the adventure to frontier manhuas but D Cyber was only ever released in Hong Kong.

But i am not sure who wrote the manhua in the original post.

edit : The original post manhua is also by Yuen Wong Wu

That's not the same one. I don't remember the Tokyopop manhua having Hikari in the hospital, or the Chosen using V-pets to compete in the D-1 tournament a la V-tamer.

A chinese comic (manhua) made in Taiwan, after receiving authorisation from Toei Japan allowing them to adapt the 'Digimon' series which has become popular worldwide.

This one is illustrated by Taiwan artist Lu Shui-shi (呂水世).

The Tokyopop one is the one by Yu Yuen Wong, the guy who did the Adv-Frontier manhuas, D-Cyber, and the manhua in the thread OP.

^The one by Lu Shui-shi? It's just 'Digimon Adventure'. The Chinese name itself is just 'Digimon' (or 'Digital Monsters', there's no short form of the name like Digital Monster > Digimon in Chinese)
according to the link Random posted, it was published in 2000 in Taiwan.

Can anyone recommend a site for importing stuff from Taiwan? I may buy some of these manhua if I can find them for reasonable prices. Someone should, anyway, since they're unknown in the Western fandom (and probably aren't much better known in Japan, for that matter). For those who haven't noticed yet, that link to the Adventure manhua has the first volume available to read (Yamato/Mimi shippers will love it; they interact!). I find it almost more interesting in its way than the original manhua (the latter's weird art style for volume 1 and all its pasted-in Bandai art don't make the best first impression). It's always interesting to me to see the differences between different media/adaptations of a series, like when I'm reading the manga versions of anime I've seen, or stuff like the Adventure novelization.

I researched this a bit and found that the last two scans on the OP belong to a different Manhua series, consisting of 6 volumes. The chinese being 激鬥!!數碼暴龍 VOL.1 數碼暴龍雷霆大賽 this is the first volume, but i think it translates to "Battle ! Digimon Thunder Tournament" or something along those lines.

Unfortunately i can only find the first and last volume of this (1 and 6), but can't seem to find Volumes 2 - 5

i got my information from [ http://hkdmc.org/ ] if anybody wants to check that out.

So in total that would make the entire series 10 volumes, 4 from the OP and 6 from the Thunder Tournament manhua, as i believe they were both written by Yuen Wong Wu, and feature the same characters and released in the CO-CO magazine in Hong Kong, but i don't know which one came first.

edit 1 : See this archive [ http://forum.hkdmc.org/Discuz/archiver/?tid-38438.html ] they say this manhua is from 1999-2000

For Taiwan stuff, since it's second-hand manhua other than ebay/yahoo you could probably try Ruten (http://www.ruten.com.tw/ ); I personally haven't ordered from there before, but I think some sellers may or may not ship overseas so you might have to contact an intermediary..I'm not too sure how the costs will scale though :\
(if you're searching for the Lu Shui-shi adaptation, search for 數碼寶貝 呂水世. There are other Adventure manhua as well as the TV comic-ised versions so you have to make sure you don't get the wrong one ^^' I don't mind helping to check)

If you're looking for the manhua mentioned in OP..i did a quick google and couldn't find anywhere selling it, so it might be tougher to get hold of.

The main title for all the pics is 激鬥!!數碼暴龍 which is 'Fight!! Digimon',
the first 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pics in OP have the subtitle 完全體決戰篇, 'Perfect Level Decisive Battle Chapter'.
I don't see any subtitle on the last two pics themselves, but 'Digimon Thunderbolt Tournament' sounds right for the text you posted.
