I know I am.

Still no idea when in 2020 it will be released but so far everything I have seen as someone who enjoys good visual novels, turn based strategy games and rpgs looks good.

So thoughts, what do you think the game will be like? Are you likeing the look of it so far?

Also sorry if there is already a thread like this, I did try to find one before making it.

I'm more interested in the next Story, but I'm still looking forward to this. I hope it has some dating features mostly and looking forward to seeing some lesser known Digimon that have been missing forever.

Totally. After all that Falcomon with original design have returned plus his own line(?) so I really hope Kudamon will. But I was wondering if anybody can evolve to any digimon in next levels that might be similar to DW2's DP points in the evolution like Okuwamon - GranKuwagamon or Diaboromon with highest DP pts. If not, maybe Next Order's Evolution chart's options to disable to ensure your desired evolution easier to obtain.

Also most Digimon games are often heard of playing repeatedly despite beating the game in the internet and youtube, so I hope this game get that.

I am, since this is the first ever Digimon game to come to the PC (not counting the Korean MMOs). But I am still waiting to wishlist both this and Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition on Steam.

Absolutely.
Haven't played many strategy, so I'm looking forward to trying it.
The visuals and tone look great from the little gameplay and key art we've seen so far.
It's still a way off though, so I'm trying not to think about it too much. Otherwise it feels like it's taking forever to come out.

Lol 2021 and we are still waiting for a release date. I didn't think this would have happened early last year.

It’s crazy to think a game like this one needs so many years to come out.
It really makes me worried for the next Digimon Story game which is in development.

I’m still having a tone of fun with Digimon World 3 and Cyber Sleuth/Hacker’s Memory, but a new game wouldn’t hurt.

It’s isn’t likely taking long because of the complexity. It probably has a very small team in comparison to the World or Story games. So it’s taking so long because they don’t have enough people to get it faster. That and it’s a completely new style of game for the digimon series. So a lot more thinking goes into this. This is just my best guess

They're trying a new take for a franchise game, so a longer development was to be expected. However, they seem to have run into more problems than anticipated and the pandemic didn't help any.

I wouldn't be too worried about the new Story. They have a lot more experience with that branch of the franchise and past games to look into.

It has about a decade to beat Kingdom Under Fire II; announced January 2008.......Released in the West in 2019. Hopefully it is not another Cyber Punk . Over-developing for a still flawed game.

I mean if we're talking "longest time from announcement until release," Duke Nukem Forever is probably the old example. Survive was announced 3 years ago and is nowhere near there.

As far as we know, pre-Covid the plan was January 2021 at the latest. That said they did say last time that they'd have more information in the spring, so let's see how the next two months go.

It intrigues me. Mainly because it seems a lot more story driven, as opposed to the usual collect and raise affair. I'm kind of hoping it allows you to form a bond with a partner Digimon akin to the anime, since you can influence evolutions apparently.

This, exactly. I just loved the first trailer we got and I can’t wait to see more of the story. It looks melancholic, charming, a bit creepy but I have no doubt it will be a fantastic adventure.
