New CD scan! Real life stuff delayed doing this and a few other things, so all of that should be coming up reasonably soon.

Even if We're Apart is the new ending song for Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. The song is by AiM, who has done many songs for Digimon over 20+ years, along with playing Mimi in the original Adventure.

The disc was released a few days before the movie came out.

The CD contains 4 tracks: the title track, Ashita wa Atashi no Kaze ga Fuku -2020 Version- as a B-side track (a new version of the original end theme for Digimon Adventure 02), and karaoke versions of both.

The embedded files are smaller JPGs from our gallery, so those shouldn't have any bandwidth issues. Click the images for big versions.

The scans went relatively well and there were no oddities or issues.

The CD was packaged in a CD-Album style case (the normal CD case most people are familiar with.)

The cover for this release is new artwork of all 12 kids. It features each kid walking/standing around, not unlike what you might expect to see in a stereotypical album cover with people all looking off in random directions. Reflected in the ground are various familiar landmarks.

While the art of the kids is all reasonably nice, the overall style feels a bit hokey. One wonders if part of the reason for this was to have decent art of everyone on the cover without having anyone covered up, etc. ala the movie poster.

The art is formatted wide over both the front and back of the insert, with the main affectation being the song title and AiM at the top in white and pink.

The cover unfolds to show 2 inner pages.

Just a basic 2 page fold out. Each side has the lyrics and credits to one of the two songs featured on the disc. The left side has a screenshot of Taichi and Agumon holding hands, while the right has the same for Yamato and Gabumon.

It's a nice and clean setup, while also using reasonably strong imagery from the film, whether you've seen it or not.

A scan of the disc itself.

The disc design is a pinkish color with cherry blossoms cut out of the design (not quite fully cut out, it appears it just uses a thinner type of silkscreening, leading to an interesting visual effect.) The song and AiM logo are a darker pink, as is various other details.

Because this was a full CD case, it had some art under the tray which I cracked open.

This time we get images of Taichi and Agumon that were used heavily as marketing for the film began to ramp up.

Interestingly, everything is placed in a rough circle design, so the CD actual covers it all up when in the case, giving a mostly all pink appearance with the disc.

The reverse side of this is the actual back cover of the CD case. It features a photograph of AiM with cherry blossoms around her, some breaking up digitally. It uses various shades of pink and white in an interesting way. Even having looked at it a bit, I still look at the image wondering if one of the cherry blossoms might actually be an image of Mimi's hat that I'm missing (very possibly something they did on purpose to have the visuals without putting the hat it in more literally, since she isn't Mimi anymore. The back also includes the various logos and information you'd expect to be included in the package.

On the left side of the case was an obi card.

A basic but nice obi. Various information about the release is included.

The back features a bit that includes the pink cherry blossoms from the back of the main case.

It's a relatively standard and nice looking CD package without much surprises for the packaging itself, which is expected for a standard CD release. The main focus for the packaging is the new character artwork and the nice photo of AiM on the back.

It feels like overall the packaging is a bit more cohesive on this one than the new insert song, possibly because it just uses new art of the kids instead of including teases to the new Digimon around it.

It's a nice CD release.

If you want to order the CD, it is still available. Also available are the other 3 Kizuna CDs that came out at the same time.: (CDJapan affiliate links)
