A bunch of updates for the English release of Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna!

First up, embedded above is the English dubbed trailer. We get to hear a number of new voices in it, and in addition we have a full cast list:
Tai Kamiya- Joshua Seth
Matt Ishida- Nicolas Roye
TK Takaishi- Johnny Yong Bosch
Kari Kamiya- Tara Sands
Izzy Izumi- Mona Marshall
Joe Kido- Robbie Daymond
Sora Takenouchi- Colleen O'Shaughnessey
Mimi Tachikawa- Kate Higgins
Menoa Bellucci- Erika Harlacher
Kyotaro Yamada- Kaiji Tang
Agumon- Tom Fahn
Gabumon- Kirk Thornton
Patamon- Laura Summer
Palmon- Anna Garduno
Gatomon- Kate Higgins
Tentomon- Jeff Nimoy
Biyomon- Cherami Leigh
Gomamon- Bob Klein
Davis Motomiya- Griffin Burns
Cody Hida- Bryce Papenbrook
Yolei Inoue- Jeannie Tirado
Ken Ichijouji- Derek Stephen Prince
Veemon- Derek Stephen Prince
Armadillomon- Robbie Daymond
Wormmon- Paul St. Peter
Hawkmon- Christopher Swindle

A number of ones aren't surprising to anyone, but the changes and new cast members are the ones likely of most interest to people at the moment:
Matt is being done by Nicolas Roye, who was Mikey in Digimon Fusion.
Mimi is being done by Kate Higgins, who was Miki in Data Squad, and Meicoomon & Gatomon in tri. (and Gatomon here once again.)
Erika Harlacher joins as Menoa.
Kaiji Tang joins as Kyotaro
Davis is being done by Griffin Burns.
Cody is being done by Bryce Papenbrook.
Yolei is being done by Jeannie Tirado.
Armadillomon is being done by Robbie Daymond, who is also returning as Joe.
Hawkmon is being done by Christopher Swindle.

Next up, the Blu-ray and DVD releases have been reconfirmed for October 6th.

Pre-orders are still open at Amazon: (affiliate links)

Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna DVD

A bonus feature for the disc titled “The Final Evolution: Remembering 20 Years of Digimon Adventure with Joshua Seth and Tom Fahn” has been announced.

The Shout Store has also begun taking pre-orders again for their version of the Blu-ray with a lithograph. When it was delayed they cancelled orders, so if you want that version, make sure to re-order.

The last bit of fully announced news is that the movie will get a digital release a week early, on September 29th, in both English and Japanese with subtitles.

The announcements finish with Toei and Shout teasing that 'special news and activities' will be announced as part of the leadup to the release of the movie.

Great to get an English trailer, cast list, and finalized release details, which have been in flux to some degree due to coronavirus issues. The cast changes, especially the ones that were more unexpected, will likely cause people to have some degree of issues with the release, but it'll be interesting to see how they sound (a few can be heard in the trailer to differing degrees.)

I'm surprised that Philece Sampler isn't coming back to voice Mimi and Cody.

At least it's almost here. In English. Can't wait to see it when I can.

All things considered, this seems like a pretty decent cast list.

I'm not too familiar with Roye beyond Fusion but first impression he sounds pretty good here, I didn't care for Mignogna in the role so it's nice too hear another interpretation.
Kate Higgens as Mimi is mildly surprising but since her role is so minimal it should be fine. I'd loved to have heard her as Yolei actually, so its kinda funny seeing here pull double duty again anyway.
Knowing how close we were to getting a reprisal of Davis is such a bummer that I'm really not looking forward to hearing anyone else in the role, but hopefully he does well.
Wasn't expecting and miracles regarding Yolei's VA, but from what I remember in Tower of God the new one should be able to come pretty close?
Papenbrook as Cody could potentially be a pretty natural progression from Sampler's take, so that could be fun.

And lastly, I can't even fathom Daymond as Armadillomon since so many of his characters are cool bishonen types, so I'm amused to hear how that will work.

Overall, I'm glad we're finally getting this release one way or another. Wish the digital came out a bit sooner, I'd almost consider getting that too.

Obviously super glad Matt was recast, although shame Reisz couldn't get it. Other than that, pretty solid list all around even with the recasts. Kate Higgens as Mimi is probably the most surprising bit on there, and perhaps most disappointing, but regardless I'm glad it's getting a dub; with Joshua Seth and Tom Fahn leading the way, I am ready for those feels.

I wonder if Fahn will be voicing Agumon's evolutions too.

Unlikely as he's only ever done Agumon before. He did do Greymon to WGmon in rearise and it sounds a bit weird lol. Altho if Hebert was doing the roles like in Tri they would've said I suppose... curious. Maybe you're on to something.

I'm skipping the English version because of the Yamato recast. Vic was great.

All the recasts bum me out a little, since I imagine most of them had to do with the pandemic. I don't know about anyone else, but I would have been willing to wait until they were able to record, but I assume there may have been other factors pushing them to get it going. But I have mine pre-ordered, and can't wait to have a little viewing party with my friends.

I wonder if we should watch something before the movie....like the first Adventure movie, or the first episode of Adventure? I'll definitely be getting a box of tissues.

Three of the recast is a combination of bad timing and home studio not being setup in time. Kate Higgins as Mimi caught me off guard initially, but I can her pulling the role well. Matt being recasted is absolute, same with Yolei and Armadillomon

Yeh, that's what I meant by "most of them had to do with the pandemic."
As far as what's 'absolute', Yamato's original actor Michael Reisz, had been vocal about wanting to come back and I wonder if that would have been an option if recording situations had been better.

The thing that many fans failed to point out is that Michael Reisz isn't as vocal as Joshua Seth was about reprising their respective roles. I mean Joshua had to contact Jeff Nimoy to know who's producing tri. along with the contact information. Being an actor, Michael was literally waiting for the producers from Studiopolis to reach out to him as he had worked with them before with Frontier and Naruto.

Maybe if Reisz did what Joshua had done, he would've been Matt/Yamato for the tri. movies.
